The Write Stuff by Tiffany King

Twenty-two-year-old historical romance writer Nicole Blake, or N.S. Blake to her readers, hasn’t taken an official poll, mind you, but she is convinced she may be the only romance author on the planet who is still a card-carrying member of the virgin club.
Not that she hasn’t tried to end her membership. Life just keeps finding pesky ways to interfere. With no prospects on the horizon, Nicole begins to feel like the closest she will ever get to experiencing a man is within her own stories.

Opportunity presents itself in the form of hot-as-sin-on-a-lollipop-stick bartender/premed student Alec Petropoulos, who agrees to be the cover model for her upcoming book. Sparks fly instantly between them, and Nicole begins to entertain the possibility that she’s finally found the right guy to hand over her tattered V-card. Alec has all the makings for a perfect one-night-stand candidate except, much to Nicole’s surprise, he seems to be the only man in existence not interested in bagging a virgin.

Stuck between a rock and a stubborn male, what’s a virgin to do? Seduce him, of course. How hard could it be? If it works for the characters in her stories, why wouldn’t it work for her?
After all, what happens under the cover…stays under the cover.

Release Blitz, Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Worth Forgiving by Vi Keeland

They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom.

Daughter of legendary fighter “The Saint,” Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she’s no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That’s why she’s always kept her distance. But the day Jax Knight walks through her door she’s captivated by his charm. Stunningly handsome, well mannered, Ivy League educated, and confident, he shatters all the preconceived notions she’d come to think were true about men who trained to fight.

But falling for someone so soon after her breakup wasn’t something she’d planned on. And definitely not something her ex plans to allow.

We first met Jax in Worth the Chance, which is book two of this series, and I for one wanted more of his story.  He grew up the rich boy, son of a Senator, but always loved MMA.  When the scandal that surrounds his father breaks, we learn that Jax just may have more of a connection with the MMA world that he previously thought.  Jax really surprised me. I knew that deep down he was a good guy but I wasn’t sure how he was going to come across in the book, I’ll just say this; I love him and want to have imaginary book babies with him.  This man is protective, funny, flirty, sexy as hell and loyal.  He knows how to set the sheets on fire in the bedroom but be totally sweet and a gentleman outside of it too.

Lily grew up around fighters, she also is part owner of a franchise of MMA gyms.   She has a complete douche bag of an ex who doesn’t want to take the hint or the title “Ex” at all.  Lily is an artist.  She is weary to start a relationship with Jax because of how her ex is acting and treated her.  I think the only issue I had with Lily was that she has been around fighters all her life, grew up in a gym but doesn’t like fighting.  I really had a hard time connecting her with running a gym where MMA fighter’s come to train but yet she doesn’t approve of violence.  Other than that, I thought she was sweet, sure as hell didn’t need to go through what she did, and helped balanced Jax out when his own life was in turmoil because of his father.

Vi Keeland has made this reviewer a fan for life.  She sucks you in with her sexy as sin alpha males, addicting story lines and scorching sex scenes.  Add to the fact that I love MMA fighter books and for me this series has been a must read.  I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her fans next, because I will be anxiously waiting for the opportunity to read it to fall in love with whatever story she has planned.

Excerpt: Meet Jax and Lily

Dinner and a dirty mouth

My face pinks when the waiter clears his throat, no doubt he’d heard Jax’s last comment.

“Are you ready to hear the specials?”

“Are we?” Jax arches an eyebrow, his eyes gleaming with delight. He’s not the slight bit embarrassed, but knows I am and is quite enjoying himself.

“Yes. Please.” I give him the evil eye and force my full attention back to the waiter. The entire time the waiter talks about the specials I feel Jax’s eyes burning into me.

“I’ll give you a moment to let you decide.” Graciously, the waiter excuses himself.

“Why did you do that?” I scold, my voice low.

“Do what?” He leans back in his seat, crossing his arms over his thick chest.

“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”

“Do I?”

“You enjoy watching me flustered, don’t you?”

Jax arches both eyebrows. Bad choice of words.

“You know what I mean.”

Leaning in, his voice gritty and sexy, he looks me straight in the eyes when he speaks. “I love watching you. Period. But what I like best is watching you pretend you’re unaffected. It’s like an unspoken challenge.” He pauses and leans in even closer. “I love the pink that creeps up your cheeks when I say something dirty. The way your pussy throbs when I mention what I’m going to do to you later, and you wiggle in your seat trying to control it. So yeah, I guess I do like watching you flustered. You sit and give your attention to the waiter, trying to pretend you’re listening to whatever he’s saying instead of thinking of me feeding you my cock later, but we both know you didn’t hear one word he said. Hell I didn’t hear one word watching you, just knowing what you were thinking about.”

This time, I see the waiter before he’s close enough to hear us. He smiles as he reaches our table. “So what can I get for you this evening? Did I interest you in one of our specials?”

I look at the waiter, then Jax, who arches an eyebrow with a knowing smirk on his face, then back to the waiter. “The specials all sounded delicious. I just can’t decide for myself. I’m going to defer to my date to pick one for me.” I return my eyes to Jax with a cheeky grin.

He throws his head back with a chuckle and looks at the poor confused waiter. “We’ll take whatever two are your favorites. Surprise us.”

Release Day Launch Review & Giveaway: Seducing Lauren (Love Under the Big Sky #2) by Kristen Proby

Kristen Proby creates magic. She puts her fingers to her keyboard and sparks fly, readers swoon.
Seducing Laurenis book two in the Love Under the Big Sky series. Lauren Cunningham just got out of a nasty divorce. Her ex unfortunately is still not done with her. When he threatens more than just coming after her trust fund, Ty Sullivan finally steps into Lauren’s life and makes his feelings known. Ty has had a thing for Lauren for a while now, but thought it inappropriate to make a move before now. Lauren, having been badly burned by love and friendships, distrusts what Ty’s actual motives are. Ty doesn’t waver though. He slowly makes his way into her heart by showing her exactly how a real man that cares for her acts.
“Lauren, the only thing I want from you is you.”
Ty completely surprised me with his sensitive side. When he cares for a woman, he shows it. He is passionate, loving and protective. Once he set his mind on pursuing Lauren, he gave it his all. One of my absolute favorite things about him…Lauren has a tendency to let time escape her when she’s working, which means meals are forgotten and skipped, Ty, however, whether he’s there or not, makes sure she’s taken care of.
“…Mr. Sullivan called it in and asked us to deliver it to you. He said to send you whatever your favorite is.”
Seriously, what man does that?!
“I’m not letting you out of my sight, sweetness. You’re stuck with me.”
Lauren is a fun, feisty woman. She has no problems standing toe to toe with you and telling it like it is. Her career choice was fun to see. I detect a little bit of Ms. Proby went into her character; I’m not giving any spoilers up on that one. Being with Ty has helped get her out of her shell. We see a playful and loving side to her.

Lauren’s trust issues aren’t the only angst in this book however. This book went a little bit darker towards the end and I absolutely loved it! It was unexpected, had my heart pounding and left me an emotional mess. The turn this story took takes us outside of what we’re use to in a Kristen Proby romance novel. I think she did a phenomenal job. I for one am looking forward to seeing what other surprises she has in store for us in the future.
You NEED to read this book!

EXCERPT:
As I approach his house, I see his Jeep parked in the drive, the hood up, and a tight, jean-clad ass bent over the side.
Okay, he’s definitely home.
I tentatively wander around the other side of the Jeep and lean against the side, looking at the engine. He hasn’t noticed that I’m here yet, and I’m not even sure how he’ll react to seeing me here, but I can’t seem to stay away. His dark head is bent low, his arms buried in the engine, tinkering with something. His arms are bare as he’s pulled off his T-shirt, which is draped over the windshield. A thin sheen of sweat covers his shoulders and back, and his entire sleeve tattoo, which runs from just above his wrist all the way up to the top of his right shoulder, is on full display, making my girlie parts all tingle and come to life.
Holy Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
He’s so fucking toned it’s crazy. Jeez, his muscles bunch and stretch as he pulls on the wrench in his hand.
“Come on, you motherfucker,” he mutters. I have to bite my lips to keep from laughing out loud.
“So, what seems to be the problem?” I finally ask when he doesn’t notice me, keeping my eyes trained on the engine when his head whips up to look at me. I slowly lift my eyes to his and grin.
“I didn’t hear your car,” he murmurs with a smile.
“I walked.” I shrug and look back down into the bowels of his Jeep. “What’s wrong with your car?”
“You walked from your house?” he asks incredulously.
“No.” I shake my head and chuckle. “From Sips. I had coffee with Cara this morning.”
He stands up straight and leans his palms on the side of the Jeep, watching me. My eyes immediately fall to one drop of sweat slowly making its way down his hard chest.
“You had coffee with Cara?” He smiles.
“Yeah.” I shrug shyly. “I’m sorry to just stop by like this. I was out for a walk and just sort of found myself here.” I feel my cheeks heat and I back away, but he shakes his head and smiles widely.
“I’m glad you came by.” He raises his brows as I continue to stare.
I shake my head and raise my eyes to his, then bust out laughing.
“Why are you laughing?” he asks with a wide grin.
“Because I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without a shirt. I didn’t realize the tats went all the way up your arm. Who would have thought that under it all you’re just a bad boy?”
His eyes flash with heat as he narrows them on my face, watching me. He pulls a rag out of his back pocket and begins wiping off his hands, but his gray eyes stay on mine. Did I offend him?
“I’m not such a bad boy. Looks can be deceiving, Lauren.” He smirks as he lowers the hood on his Jeep. “But from the look of you right now, you don’t seem to mind the tats.”
“I don’t mind.” I shrug nonchalantly and try to ignore the way my heart picks up speed as he slowly saunters around the hood of the vehicle.
“Do you have any tats?”
“Yeah.”
His eyes widen in surprise and then rake over me from head to toe.
“Where?”
I grin, enjoying this flirtatious banter. “Here and there.”
“I have ways of making people talk, you know.”
“Bright lights and rubber hoses?” I ask with a raised brow.
He tosses his head back and laughs, an all-out belly laugh. “I’m not a cop,” he smirks.
“You might get to see them. Someday.”
He closes the gap between us and kisses me gently on the forehead, not touching me anywhere else.
“I hope someday comes sooner rather than later,” he whispers before pulling back and smiling softly down at me. “I would hug you, but I’m dirty.”
I wave him off, as if it’s no biggie, although I don’t mind so much that he’s a bit dirty and sweaty. “What were you doing?” I gesture to the car.
“Changing the oil.”
“There are places you can go,” I inform him with a perfectly straight face, “where you pull into this big garage, and then you leave your car and go into this small room with five-year-old magazines and stale coffee, and the people there will change your oil for you.”
“Or, smart-ass, I can do it myself in my own driveway.”
“Suit yourself.” I shrug.
“Did you sleep okay on the couch?” he asks, changing the subject.
“Yeah, actually, I did. But I could always sleep just about anywhere.”
“Hence the chaise in your office.” He chuckles.
I nod and stuff my hands in my pockets. “I’m sorry that I interrupted your morning. I was just out for a walk and found myself here.”
“I’m glad you did.” He scratches his stomach, and my eyes follow the movement. His abs are just delicious. For being so dark haired, he has little hair on his chest and stomach, but a light trail of hair falls from his navel and disappears into his jeans. He’s also sporting a V in the muscles on his hips that the heroes in my novels would covet.
“Lo?” he asks with a wide grin.
“Yeah?” I drag my eyes up to his again.
“I lost you for a second.”
I blink rapidly and feel heat fill my cheeks. Jesus, get a grip! You’ve seen hot men before, Lauren. “Sorry, my mind wandered.”

Excerpt

“All right, everyone.” Lindsay stands up and pushes back her chair slightly. She wobbles a bit on her heels and rests her hand on my shoulder to steady herself. “Apparently, tonight is as good as any night to let you all in on a little secret.” She wipes the palms of her hands down the sides of her black dress. “So, for a little over a year now, Matt and I have been seeing each other.” There are a few chuckles, but mostly everyone sits silently listening to Lindsay. “We’ve kept it quiet for a while simply because it’s what worked for us.” She shrugs. “It started off casual and just turned into more, and we didn’t really make a big deal out of it.” She looks down at me and smiles the most beautiful, genuine smile I’ve ever seen. Her blue eyes sparkle in the lights from the crystal chandelier and her long, blonde hair hangs in waves. She looks almost angelic in the dimly lit room. “So, cat’s out of the bag.” She laughs and raises her glass. I stand up and raise my glass next to hers. “To Matt and me,” she says with a smile on her beautiful face. I lean in and press a long kiss to her lips while everyone hoots and hollers around us. “I love you, sweet girl,” I say between kisses.

Excerpt
Embry let out a soft moan as she snuggled into the warmth of the strong arms around her. She was exactly where she wanted to be. And for the first time in almost a week, she felt content, happy…except for the slight pounding in her skull. She cracked her eyes open, peeking out from beneath her lashes, only to slam them shut again when the sunlight assaulted her too-sensitive vision. Ouch. Laying in bed for a few minutes longer, she waited for the hazy fog to lift from her brain and her eyes to adjust to the bright light of day.
The arms around her tightened and their owner let out a low, sleepy groan. At the sound, Embry stiffened and her eyes popped open. Suddenly, the sweet warmth of his body was a searing fire burning her bare skin and sending her into a panic. Slowly dragging herself from his embrace, she sat up in the bed. Her gaze traveled the room, taking in her surroundings before looking down at herself and realizing her clothes were missing, save barely there bra and panties. Taking a deep breath, she bolstered her resolve and glanced over her shoulder. The man asleep next to her was on his back, arm thrown over his head, his hard-lined chest and abs on display.
Embry’s stomach dropped violently and tears began to fall freely from her eyes. Oh no. No, no, no.

Review: A Good Debutante’s Guide To Ruin (The Debutante Files, Book 1) by Sophie Jordan

A Good Debutante’s Guide To Ruin, book 1 in The Debutante Files, is an amazing start to a new series! Filled with intrigue, sensuality, innocence, and a touch of taboo, I refused to put this book down.

Rosalie Hughes has nowhere to go. Having been all but abandoned by her mother, Rosalie ends up at her stepbrother’s door. She’s the second to last person he ever wanted to see.

Declan, the Duke of Banbury, holds nothing but hatred for his stepmother. Though he and Rosalie may have fond childhood memories, he finds it hard to separate mother from daughter.

Wanting to quickly rid himself of Rosalie, Declan sponsors her through the debutante season and offers a hefty dowry with her marriage. Unfortunately for him, Rosalie won’t just go off with the first man to propose. She wants romance and love. But the longer she stays under Declan’s roof, the more she wants those things with him.

I was hooked and sucked in, on the edge of my seat waiting to see where this would go. Declan is never lacking in the company of women, but when Rosalie re-enters his life he unknowingly changes his rakish ways. She gets under his skin. He knows it’s a bad idea. He can’t go there with her. Looking for escape and to release some pent up frustrations, he runs off to Sodom for the night.

Rosalie, afraid the debutante season won’t bring her the romance she imagined, wants to experience life on her own terms…just once. She too finds herself at Sodom, a private club for illicit activities, donned in costume to protect her identity. There she’s only seeking out her first kiss. And oh my steaminess what a first kiss it is…with Declan! Holy mother of first kisses those two have hot chemistry!

“That’s it,” he growled. “Take what you want.”

Of course things can’t be that simple though. He has no clue the woman at Sodom, that makes him want more out of life, is the same woman currently living under his roof. Explosive is the word I’d use to define what happens when he puts two and two together and stops fighting his feelings for Rosalie.

His kiss deepened, grew harder, hungrier. Fast and desperate.

Oh but, Sophie Jordan, wasn’t done with us readers yet. Declan and Rosalie would have to fight for their happy ending. Rosalie’s conniving, twisted mother wants her daughter’s dowry and she doesn’t care about hurting her daughter to get it.

Who knew a historical romance can be so fun! I’m looking forward to the next one in this series and more of Sodom. Seriously add this book to your TBR list.

Cover Reveal: Roman by Kimber S. Dawn

Roman is a man of little words and lessor morals. He’s a man who accepted his demons long before the average person even realized they had any. Roman has never felt emotions like guilt, shame, or remorse. Roman has also never felt love, sympathy, or compassion.

Jaded for reasons unknown with more money at his disposal than he knows what to do with, Roman’s walk to the dark side began long before his first kill. He will taunt you, he will make you hope and watch in amusement as you fall for him, believing you’re the one who can save his soul. Believing you’re the one who can get through because the other twelve failed, you’ll know to the marrow of your bones how lucky being number thirteen really is…

How do I know all of this? Because…my name is Heather Mackenzie and I’ve been number thirteen for a lot longer than I ever intended to be.

This will be a trilogy.

Cover Reveal: Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

Release Date: September 2014
You’re not supposed to want the one who torments you.
When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be.
I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.
I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.
At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then, things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.
Just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California.
