Virtual Tour: To Tempt A SEAL By Sara Jane Stone

For the first time in her life, social worker Lucia Lewis is ready to live. And the masquerade ball in Las Vegas is just the place to find a ridiculously hot guy to complete her wicked to-do list. The only rule? Her elegant Venetian mask—which conceals the scars that have always held her back from the life she deserves—stays on.

Navy SEAL Cade Daniels heads to Vegas on a mission to keep his best friend’s little sister out of trouble. Except the woman he’s sent to find is all heat and flame…and perfectly capable of handling herself. And him. But the moment Lucia’s mask slips, the need to heal her, body and soul, is complete and absolute temptation.

But revealing himself could cost him the one thing he isn’t willing to risk…his heart.

To Tempt A SEAL is a quick and sexy read that was the perfect way for me to pass the time on a weekend afternoon.  It is sweet, sexy, funny and left me wishing for a SEAL of my very own.  I liked how that even though Cade knew he was going to get in massive trouble with his best friend he knew that being with Lucia would be worth it; even if it was just for that weekend. He saw the beauty of her before even seeing what was under the mask.  In today’s standards too many people believe that if you aren’t perfect in every way then you aren’t beautiful and I loved reading about a sexy man throwing those thoughts out the door even after seeing Lucia unmasked for the first time.   I kind of really enjoyed the whole Phantom Of The Opera thing going on when it came to the mask, no Lucia isn’t a crazy opera composer, but she wore the mask for a reason; a very sad reason that too many people would judge her for.
Lucia decided that this would be her fantasy weekend, but she didn’t ever dream that a sexy man like Cade would be the one fulfilling them.  She struggles with her insecurities but slowly changes from the caterpillar into the beautiful butterfly and I loved reading it happen.  She wasn’t weak like so many heroines are in books like these, what she was, was someone wounded both physically and emotionally but those wounds began to heal during her weekend with Cade.

To Tempt A SEAL is the first book in the Sin City SEALS series and I am looking forward to reading more from this author.  I am not sure if the rest of the books will focus on Cade’s team mates or someone else but whoever it is I want to read them soon than later.  If you are looking for a sexy read that you can finish easily in an afternoon then grab this one, I think you will like it.

Blog Tour: Consolation By Corinne Michaels

Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.

He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.
But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.
One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.

****************************************************

When I started readingConsolation, I originally started to read it based on the military element alone.  Obviously I have a soft spot in my heart for military heroes and military themed books if you haven’t noticed in previous reviews.  What I didn’t anticipate was that from the first page until the last I would be so drawn into Natalie’s pain from the death of her husband and the connection that she and Liam shared from the start, even if it was just a friendship.
I was at the edge of my seat wondering and waiting for them to finally be together even when a silent shit storm was forming around them that no one could ever see coming.  Let me just say that ending?  Yeah my kindle may or may not have bounced off my bedroom wall after reading that.  I will not say what happens but man that was not what I thought was coming after everything else that had happened up until that point.

I love how Liam and Natalie are together and their banter back and forth is hilarious.  Natalie deserves happiness and so does Liam but will they be getting it in the next book?  I sure hope so.  I hadn’t previously read a book by this author before but if all of her books are like this one I will be placing her on my automatic read list from here on out.  I hope May comes around quickly because I need to see what is going to happen in Conviction.

Excerpt:
Aarabelle sits in her highchair as I feed her dinner. She’s growing so fast. Already she’s eating cereal and a little baby food. Soon she’ll be crawling and I have no one to celebrate with. Her father will never see these milestones and it breaks me apart.
“You should really lock the door,” Liam huffs as he throws his coat over the chair.
“But then I’d have to get up to let you in,” I state matter-of-factly and go back to feeding the baby, trying to put aside my worries. The fact is…this is reality. I have to deal with it.
“Uh huh. Hey, Pumpkin,” his eyes alight as he crouches down by Aara. It’s adorable hearing grown men use a baby voice. It gets a little softer and higher pitched.
The corners of her mouth lift and she throws her arms in the air when he gets close. My heart sputters seeing how happy she gets seeing him. Liam kisses her head and she giggles.
“At least someone is happy to see me,” he says playfully.
“I’d be happy if you brought me a present,” I joke.
He laughs and goes into the pocket of his coat. “Just so happens I did, but since that’s the only way you’ll be nice, I’ll hold on to this until you’ve earned it.”
Practically leaping out of my chair, I rush over. “What is it?” I try to peer around his back as he holds the mystery item.
Liam’s lips curl as he sees how much I want this. I don’t even know what it is. Jeez, I’m an idiot. “Nope. We eat first, then maybe you’ll get it.”
“Watch, it’s a freaking Pez dispenser or something stupid.”
“Guess you’ll have to be nice to find out.” He shoves the item into his back pocket and I fight the urge to reach and get it. “How was work?”
We spend the next thirty minutes going over my day and Jackson’s return. Liam never mentioned that they spoke, but he’s surprised to hear he’s in Virginia. After we finish the pizza, Liam somehow convinces me we should watch a movie. I get Aarabelle to bed and come down to find him sprawled out on the couch.
“By all means, make yourself comfortable.”
Liam pulls his beanie higher on his forehead and his eyes glimmer with amusement. He sits up and puts the TV on. “I picked the movie.”
“What?” I ask with mock incredulity. “It’s my house. Why do you get to pick the movie?”
“Ummm, I’m the guest.” He shrugs as if this should be an obvious answer.
I groan and lean back. “What crappy, shoot-‘em-up movie do I have to endure?”
“You’ll see. It’s a classic.”

Review: Steal My Heart by Lisa Eugene

*There is dubious consent and a little non-con in this book*
Steal My Heart is the story of a germaphobe nurse who gets kidnapped and taken on a wild ride by a hot ex-navy SEAL. Along the way, they’re thrown into danger, deceit, murder, mayhem and betrayal.
So, this review is a little hard for me to write. I have mixed feelings about it. I love military heroes, whether active or retired. I love the idea of falling for someone you wouldn’t normally. I loved the action, the intrigue, the mystery and was totally caught off-guard by the guilty party.
The idea of a germaphobe nurse travelling and wearing the same clothes over and over made me chuckle. Watching how Gabe dealt with her was even better.
The romance between Gabe and Maggie was hot. Gabe learning to let others in and learning to love was great. I also love that Maggie was a full figured woman. And the descriptions matched that. It was just lip service. This hot SEAL falling for a full figure woman was awesome.
So, where was my problem with the story? There quite a few words I had to stop and look up. I have a pretty decent vocabulary and I rarely have to look up words when reading romance novels. However, I found myself being pulled from the story and forced to look up words. It tended to disrupt the flow for me.
The first half of the story dragged a bit for me. This may have been because I kept getting pulled from the story. However, the last half really picked up the pace.
The last 25% was rolling fast and furious and I couldn’t read fast enough. It was full of action and passion.
The best part? The conclusion! Nope, not gonna tell. You’ll have to read it. But, let’s just say, the ultimate guilty party was a surprise to me. Plus, how it all ended up being resolved was AWESOME! I liked that ending!
Now, what did the vagina say to the rabbi? (read the book, you’ll understand the question!)

Melissa Schroeder
From an early age, Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.
Since the publication of her first book in 2004, Melissa has had close to fifty romances published. She writes in genres from historical suspense to modern day erotic romance to futuristics and paranormals. Included in those releases is the bestselling Harmless series. In 2011, Melissa branched out into self-publishing with A Little Harmless Submission and the popular military spinoff, Infatuation: A Little Harmless Military Romance. Along the way she has garnered an epic nomination, a multitude of reviewer’s recommended reads, over five Capa nods from TRS, three nominations for AAD Bookies and regularly tops the best seller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Since she spent her childhood as a military brat, Melissa swore never to marry military. But, as we all know, Fate has her way with mortals. She is married to an AF major and is raising her own brats, both human and canine. She spends her days giving in to her addiction to Twitter, counting down the days until her hubby retires, and cursing the military for always sticking them in a location that is filled with bugs big enough to eat her children.

JM Madden
I don’t like to talk about myself so this will be short and sweet.

I am a wife and mother of two. I currently stay home to take care of the farm and family, which I love. I was a deputy sheriff in Ohio for nine years, and I found myself tapping that experience as I wrote Second Time Around. No, I didn’t tackle and cuff my husband, although there was that time in K-mart… Anyway, it was quite a change going from writing technical reports with diagrams, witness statements, inventories etc that would stand up in court to writing contemporary romance. I’ve always written, though, and it was always a dream to do something with that huge, leaning stack of spiral-bound notebooks.

Second Time Around was my first release, and Love on the Line is my eighth. I thank you so much for taking an interest in my work…

Stay tuned. There’s a lot more coming

Release Day Launch & Giveaway: Safe With Me (With Me in Seattle #5) by Kristen Proby

Keeping others safe is what Caleb Montgomery does. He’s never had a problem taking on an assignment, whether it was during his dangerous SEAL days or his most recent job of training war mercenaries. But being assigned to keep Brynna Vincent and her adorable daughters, Maddie and Josie, safe from an unknown threat has thrown Caleb off his axis. Hot for the tall brunette since she came back to town more than a year ago, being close to her day in and day out is cracking Caleb’s resolve to keep his hands off her gorgeous body and his head in the mission.

Brynna is sick and tired of being afraid. All she wants is a normal, quiet life for her and her precious girls. Just as she’s settling into her new home in Seattle and feeling safe again, Caleb shows up on her doorstep insisting the danger is as high as ever. But whether she needs to be sheltered from the threat in her past, or from the intense emotions she feels for the sexy, protective man sleeping in her home, remains to be seen. What will happen if Brynna and her girls fall in love with a man so broken he may not be able to protect them from the danger that threatens, much less himself?”

SAFE WITH ME is the fifth book in the With Me In Seattle series, and continues to follow this tight-knit, loving family through life’s trials and tribulations with humor, passion and everlasting love.
Excerpt:

“Easy,” Caleb murmurs behind me.
“I’m fine.” Maybe if I keep saying it I’ll start to believe it myself.
He moves up behind me and nudges my legs apart. “Widen your stance for balance.”
I fire again, and my blood thickens as adrenaline pumps hard and fast through me.
It doesn’t take a Navy SEAL to figure out how to line up the sights, and I squeeze the trigger, again and again, my body taught with aggression that I didn’t even know I’d been holding.
Shooting is great therapy.
When the magazine is empty, Caleb wordlessly shows me how to switch it out, and I continue to throw the bullets down the range, clip after clip, until all four are spent.
I set the heavy gun on the shelf, pull my goggles and earmuffs off and step back. I have to lock my knees because my legs feel like Jell-O and I’m afraid I’ll fall. My arms are humming, I’m panting, and I swear to God, I could run a marathon.
Suddenly, Caleb steps up behind me and presses the button to bring the target back to us.
“Take a deep breath,” he whispers against my ear and I instinctively respond, pulling in a long, deep breath. He presses his chest against my back, his thighs against the back of my own, and pulls in a long breath of his own. “You smell so fucking good.”
His cock stirs against my backside, through his jeans. He pulls his hands up my arms and down my sides to my hips, where he rests them as he runs his nose up the side of my neck.
With the noise and feel of the gun still in my head, my heart still pounding like crazy, I want him.
Now.
“You have no idea how fucking good you feel pressed up against me like this,” he whispers, his voice rough and strained.
“I think I have an idea,” I respond, surprised to hear the raw need in my own voice.  Closing my eyes, I lean my head back on his shoulder and relish in the feel of his hands kneading my hips and his face pressed into my neck. My nipples are puckered and straining against my bra, and goosebumps have broken out up and down the length of my body.
I want him unlike anything or anyone I’ve ever wanted before.
“Caleb.” His name is a whisper, a prayer.
“Smell so damn good.”
“Touch me,” I demand softly. His hands still. He kisses my neck softly, takes a long, deep breath, and then backs away.
I turn around in surprise and in full-blown anger.
“What kind of game are you playing?” I demand.
“I’m not playing a game.” He crosses his arms over his chest.
“Caleb.” I just stare at him for a long moment. Thirty seconds ago his hands were on me and he was whispering the sweetest things in my ear.
Now he’s turned back into the drill sergeant.
And men say women are confusing.
Finally, he turns and pulls the target down.
“I’ll be damned,” he whispers.
“Let me see.”
There are a few stray bullet holes around the white part of the target, but in the center of the chest and the top of the head are two good-sized holes where my bullets pierced the paper.
“You’re a natural.” I shrug like it’s no big thing, but inside I’m doing the mega happy-dance. “Not so much a pussy, I guess.”Caleb laughs, long and loud and scoops me up into a long hug.
“Definitely not a pussy,” he agrees as he pulls away from me.
“Caleb?” My heart is beating hard, and I’m still pissed at him. He’s smiling down at my target, but when his eyes meet mine, he sobers.
“Yeah.”
“Don’t fucking touch me like that again unless you plan to finish what you start.”
His eyes go hard and his jaw tightens. Before I can turn and walk away, he grabs my wrist and pulls me against him, pinning my arms between our bodies.
“Let’s get this straight, Brynna. I want you so fucking bad my teeth ache. I’ve wanted you for months. But you’re part of my family, and I’m supposed to be protecting you. Dropping my guard and fucking you into the mattress is not the way to keep any of you whole.”
I gasp as his words sink in and I want to beg him to take me home do exactly that; fuck me into the mattress, but before I can speak, he lowers his forehead to mine and clenches his eyes closed as if in pain.
“I’m not going to fuck up our friendship, or make things weird for you with my family, just because I can’t keep my damn hands off you. You mean too much for that.”
I lean into him, wanting to comfort him, but he sighs, lifts his head and plants his lips on my forehead for a long few seconds and then backs away, turns his back on me, and loads the weapon and clips back into his locking gun box.
“I apologize. I won’t touch you again.” Before I can argue, ask him to talk with me about this, he stalks off ahead of me. “Let’s go.”

Or, who.
And yes, it is a sight to behold.
“How do you ever get anything done around here?” Meg asks as I rise and lean against the sliding glass door, coffee cradled in my hands, and watch the sexy man in my backyard. “I’d just stand around and watch him all day.”
“Uh, Meg,” I glance over at her and laugh. “You have one of these at home,” I remind her, referring to Caleb’s pro-football star brother, Will, who is also Meg’s live-in boyfriend.
“And it’s a good thing he’s gone most of the day or I wouldn’t get anything done either.”
“It’s starting to rain,” Nat observes, but it doesn’t seem to faze Caleb. He lifts two thick, heavy ropes in both of his hands. The ends are attached to Nat’s photo studio out back. With a firm grip on the ropes, he begins to wave them up and down, quickly, the rain pounding down on him, causing his shirt to cling to every muscle as it flexes and moves with the motion of the exercise.
“Hot damn,” Nat whispers and I silently agree. He continues to pump his arms furiously, effortlessly. “What does that exercise do?” Nat asks.
“Works his arms, back and abdomen, and it’s cardio too,” Meg responds and takes a sip of coffee.
Just then, Caleb drops the ropes, bends down to grab onto a medicine ball and lowers his tall body to the sit-up position.
“Maybe he’ll bend over again,” I murmur, earning giggles from the other two women.
“It’s a good thing Jules isn’t here,” Nat mutters and licks her lips as her eyes watch Caleb hold the medicine ball over his head and easily raise and lower his torso in smooth sit-ups. “She’d never let us watch him like this.”
“Jesus, that medicine ball is fifty pounds,” Meg whispers, amazed.
“Watch this part,” I urge them as Caleb tosses the ball to the side like it’s a beach ball and assumes the push-up position and begins to perfectly execute the push-ups, easily completing more than a hundred of them in two minutes.
“Why aren’t you sleeping with him again?” Meg asks and I choke on my coffee.
“I might be,” I whisper and feel their astonished gazes on me, but I avoid them. “Don’t you dare breathe a word of that to anyone.”
“Who can blame you?” Nat asks just as Caleb stands and returns to the ropes. “Look at those back muscles.”
“Look at that ass,” Meg counters.
“You should see it naked,” I respond and we all giggle again.
“Should I be grossed out by this?” Nat asks, tilting her head to the side. “He’s practically my brother.”
“But he’s not your brother, Nat.” I remind her with a grin. “And the Montgomery men are freaking hot.”
“That’s no lie,” Meg agrees. “Aren’t you going to be late for work?” She asks me.
“I have a few minutes,” I murmur and feel the familiar pull low in my belly as I watch Caleb lay on the ground again and execute more perfect sit-ups with his medicine ball.
It would be the perfect position for me to ride him. I might have to suggest that tonight.
“He’s hardly panting,” I observe. “What kind of physical training must he go through to work that hard and have it hardly phase him?”
“Oh girl, you have no idea the rigorous training they go through to become SEALs. It’s not natural.” Nat shudders. “All of the boys have always been athletic.”
“Obviously,” I murmur sarcastically. “It’s a bit intimidating.”
“Caleb can be the scariest person on Earth if he’s pissed off,” Nat informs us, her eyes still glued to him. “He’s just big and strong, and damn intimidating.”
“You should see him with the girls.” I grin, remembering our movie night last week. “He’s funny and sweet.”
I realize the room has gone dead silent. I look over to my friends to find them looking at each other and then staring over at me. “What?”
“You’ve got it bad,” Nat remarks and snickers. “Welcome to the club.”
“What club?”
“The ‘I Love a Hot Man’ club, sweetheart.” Meg laughs and salutes me with her mug just as Caleb approaches the sliding door, frowning at me. I step back in surprise as the girls giggle.
“What’s wrong?” Caleb asks, is hair and clothes soaked and a little muddy from the rain and grass.
“Nothing,” I reply and shrug.
He narrows his eyes at me, watching me closely, then turns his gaze to Nat and Meg.
“What’s going on with you guys?”
“Nothing at all,” Nat replies with a huge grin. “Just girl talk.”
“Uh huh.” He props his hands on his lean hips and watches all three of us for a moment and then shrugs and saunters to the fridge to pull out a cold bottle of water. “We have to leave soon,” he reminds me.

Review: Covert Seduction by Callie Croix

Mmmmm…..mmmmm…..mmmmmmmm…..Men in Uniform…..Mmmmm….Does it get any better than that? Only if it’s a HOT HOT Navy SEAL! Mmmmmm…….

Reid Galvin is a Navy SEAL who’s been in a war zone for quite a while. He’s watched friends die and come close himself. All he wants to do is go home to Becca. Only, he’s not sure Becca will be waiting on him. He’s screwed up one too many times.

Becca has decided Reid has moved on. So, she’s trying to move on as well. As she heads out a for date, Reid calls her and wants to see her. He’s back in town. As much as Becca wants to stay home and see Reid, she goes on her date anyway, only to find herself fighting for her life. Reid appears and pulls her to safety, for now. But the threat to Becca isn’t over and Reid is determined to win her back and keep her safe.

The passion between Reid and Becca was unbelievably HOT and SPICY. It was AMAZING. Reid took the time to make sure Becca’s fantasy was played out to the fullest. He was hot and he made her even hotter! On top of that he was concerned with making sure she knew how he felt about her. He realized that life without her would be unbearable. I love it when strong, alpha men can admit how they feel. They can show their emotions to the women they love. They’re not afraid to show the women they love how they feel. That’s a true Alpha male to me.

The suspense and tension of Becca’s life being danger added an extra element to this story. The tension from that wasn’t as ramped up as I’ve seen in other stories, but it worked with this one. Any more tension from the threat would have been too much.

Mmmmm…..back to the hot Navy SEAL…….Mmmmmmm……
