Book Tour: Dirty English By Ilsa Madden-Mills

 A scarred fighter.

A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.
There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she’s smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She’s learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.
But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.
A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.
She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.
With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.
One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.
Dirty English, I can say with a certainty, is one of my favorite books this year.  I hate to even admit the following two things but the first one is I didn’t read my ARC right away, I waited, and I have no good reason why I did, and the second is that until I read Dirty English I hadn’t read anything by this author before.  I plan to rectify that in the immediate future.

Dirty English has a broken heroine who went through something that no woman should ever go through.  It has not only molded her love life but it almost took her life as well.  Elizabeth doesn’t want a relationship, but the closer she gets with Declan, the more she fights with herself over her “rules”.  Declan is one hot sexy piece of British sexiness. He’s an MMA fighter and the sexiest man on campus and he wants Elizabeth for his own.

I loved that even though the chemistry between them is explosive from the start, they don’t jump into a relationship right away.  Both have their own dramas that they are dealing with, both can push the other away, but yet they still come back together. Dirty English has angst, drama, pain, healing, love and friendship.  It is also sexy, hot and made me want to find a Brit of my own.

I have a final confession to make.  I have never read Pride And Prejudice, but after reading Dirty English and the little glimpses throughout the book it looks like I need to check this classic out for myself.  I am not sure if this will be turned into a series or if the author plans on keeping it a standalone, but if she does do a series I can’t wait to see who would be next.

**Dirty English is a modern love story inspired by Pride and Prejudice**

Come to my apartment and spend the night with me.” I touched his face, my fingers stroking the softness of his sensuous lips. “Just one night and we can make this shitty world disappear.”
He exhaled. “A one-night stand?”
“Yeah.”
He cupped my chin. “Someone hurt you, didn’t they?”
My lips tightened. No one at Whitman knew about Colby except for Shelley and Blake, and I sure as hell wasn’t telling him. He’d judge me like everyone else had in Petal, North Carolina. “That’s none of your business.”
“I see.” His eyes searched mine until I felt like a bug under a microscope. “What if I wanted more than just one night?”
“Then your hands can let go of my hips now.”
He removed his hands slowly, the tips of his fingers grazing mine. “This may surprise you, but I don’t sleep with every girl I kiss.”
I’d been rejected. Again. “Blake said you got around, that you used—”
“And you believed him?” His voice was incredulous. “Dude is in love with you and he saw exactly how we looked at each other tonight—”
Looked at each other? What are you talking about? You refused to dance with me and then you ran off with your girlfriend. Not to mention I just kissed you and you didn’t even care.” I threw my hands up.
“I wanted to fuck you the minute you walked in that party,” he snapped.
“Then why don’t you,” I bit out, tossing back my shoulders.
“You think you want me?” he said tightly. “You can’t handle me, Elizabeth. I can see it in your eyes. You’re scared of something, maybe not me, but something.”
My eyes went to his black eye.
He let out a harsh laugh. “Ah, that’s what you’re afraid of. You want the real truth? You told me tonight you didn’t like violence, but I’m an arsehole who uses his fists. That’s who I am.”
“What do you mean?”
His gaze was intense, dark and low, his face struggling as he fought to find the right words. “I’m in a fight club for money. I show up at warehouses and fight other blokes. Sometimes I beat them so bad they need medical attention. A few times, I’ve been beat to unconsciousness. I’m everything you need to stay away from.”
I inhaled, anger and lust and excitement all riding me. Anger that he was pushing me away, lust for the alpha male in him, and God help me, the fighting thing repelled me and excited me at the same time. “I don’t want to stay away from you. I want you to fuck me and stop making excuses for why you can’t.”
My words seemed to snap his taut restraint.
He pulled me back in his arms, his lips fusing with mine unerringly. His tongue plundered me in a sensual way my body had craved for years. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my anger morphing into all-out desire as he turned us and pressed me against the wall.
Yes, yes, this is what I craved.
A passion to remind me that I was real, not just some sad excuse of a girl who chose to exist on scraps of love.
Before I knew it, he’d shoved my robe off, his hands sculpting my shoulders, massaging them as he ravaged my mouth. I reveled in the warmth of his hand on my neck as his mouth skated down, kissing the hollows of my throat, sucking on my collarbone.
“Like this?” he asked, his voice dark and gravelly. “You want me to take you up against this wall?”
“Yes,” I moaned. Gone. Past caring as long as he kept his hands on me.
Out of control, my brain whispered, but I beat back the dark warnings as his warm hand found my breast and squeezed, his fingers rolling my nipple between his thumb and forefinger.
I gasped in pleasure and arched my back to get closer to his body, ignoring the fear that pricked at the surface.
The rules girl in my head stamped her foot and yelled at me. I ignored her.
But even if I wanted to stop right now, I couldn’t. My tongue tangled wildly with his, my hands pulled at his hair, spurring him on, his hand palming my breast and then tugging. Sharp sensations of need went straight to my core.
“Is this what you want? Something quick where we just take what we want and forget each other the next day?”
No. Not that. Not like the way he said it, like it was something dirty.
“Yes, like that,” I whispered against his shoulder, my mouth on his skin, tasting him as my teeth bit down.

Review: In Tune By Laramie Briscoe

Forgiveness
Compassion
Love

When Cash Montgomery and Harper Stillwell decided to take a chance on a fling, neither one knew where it would take them. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, they are clawing their way back to the kind of relationship they have both fought so hard for.

Cash can forgive, but he can’t forget. Harper can apologize, but she can’t express her true feelings.

Growing up is hard—just because you reach an age where the world says you’re an adult doesn’t mean you are. These two are figuring out that life only gets more difficult the older you get, they are learning that love comes at a price, and they are deciding whether it’s worth fighting for.

After the Collision—they’re desperately trying to figure out if they can ever be in tune.

I have got to admit, I really enjoyed this trilogy more than I originally thought I would. Each book drew me in more and more, I need more of Cash and Harper’s relationship.  I wanted to know if they were going to make it, if Cash would be able to take care of Remy, if Harper would be able to open her feelings up, and if Cash would be able to fix what he broke.
The way that Ms. Briscoe has not only showed that even if you are struggling in life, that if you don’t give up, if you have someone to encourage you along the way, things will work out.  Life isn’t always easy.  People struggle to make rent,  put food on the table, to do the right thing even if it means the easier thing would be to just let someone else handle it.  I love how she also proves that family doesn’t mean only blood.  Family is those you allow to be your family, the ones who have your back, who will always be there for you, who will help out when you need them, that those are the people who are your family.

I am sad to see that the trilogy has come to an end.  I hope that we will continue to see more of Cash, Harper and Remy in the Heaven Hill series.  The trilogy is now complete, so if you have been waiting to check it out, make sure that you go and get all three books asap.  Laramie Briscoe knows how to make her readers fall in love with her characters and have her readers crave for more.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Beyond What Is Given by Rebecca Yarros

Lt. Grayson Masters is focused on graduating the Apache helicopter course, and the last thing he needs is his gorgeous new roommate Samantha Fitzgerald distracting him. While her smart mouth and free spirit are irresistibly irritating, he can’t deny their off-the-charts chemistry, no matter how hard he tries.

Having just been expelled from college, Sam has no business digging for Grayson’s secrets while she’s hiding her own, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to tear down his walls. Each barrier she busts through drops one of her own, though, and she’s not prepared for the truth: another woman laid claim to Grayson’s heart long ago.

Falling in love is something neither Grayson nor Sam can afford, and when that line is crossed and secrets are exposed, they’ll learn that sometimes it’s the answered prayers that will put you through hell.

ARC Review: HIM By Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?

Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.

Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself.

Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

I love a great hockey book, I love a great M/M book even more, but what I love even more is when the two genres are combined into one.  HIMhad me from the very start, I absolutely loved how we not only got to see Jamie and Ryan’s relationship in the present, but also glimpses at how they were as best friends in the past.  You wanted Jamie and Ryan to not only work through what caused them to drift apart all those years ago but you want these two to be together as a couple; because you can just tell these two are perfect for one another.
Jamie is straight, or is he?  Well he does have a female friend with benefits that I personally wanted to vag punch on more than one occasion.  Why you may ask?  Well it is because I wanted Jamie and Ryan together, even if Jamie didn’t know at first he would be attracted to guys as well, and well she was kind of bordering on pathetic and clingy if you ask me.  Yep he is Bi but once his eyes are opened I don’t see him ever going back to the females.  Ryan is the prankster, the one who you can dare to do just about anything and he would have done it.  He is also the one who I think has the bigger heart of the two, I say this because he is worried that for Jamie it isn’t what it is for him, finally being with the man he has been in love with for years.  I loved not only the chemistry these two shared, but the friendship, the history and the love they had for each other.  And for me that is what will make a relationship stay strong and last, when it is more than just about the sex (oh hush yeah I know I love me some sexy times but I am trying to be serious here people) but about a connection that only grows stronger with time.
The authors did an amazing job in flowing everything so smoothly that you can’t tell that two authors not just one wrote this.  A lot of times you can see the switch up because the styles aren’t the same or their writing style is different but Ms. Bowen and Ms. Kennedy did a beautiful job at writing HIM and making this reviewer fall in love with Jamie and Ryan.  I hope we get to read more of these authors working together in the future because these two ladies are two of my favorites.

Review: Collision By Laramie Briscoe

Collision—An instance of one person striking violently against another.

Secrets
Lies
Broken Hearts

When Cash and Harper are blindsided with custody papers for his brother, Remy, neither one of them know what to do other than what they’ve done in the past. Ask the Heaven Hill MC for help and hope for the best.

As they prepare for the fight of their lives against Remy’s parents, Harper wonders if the sins of her father will come back to bite her. A time in her life she thought she’d left behind rears its ugly head and threatens everything the two of them have been working towards.

When worlds crash, they are left looking at the wreckage and wondering if they’ve survived the collision.

Stop! If you have not read Flagger yet please do so before reading Collision, as this is not a stand alone you will be lost if you have not read the previous book.  You have been warned!

Collision picks up right where Flagger left off.  Cash and Harper are trying to figure out a way to keep Remy from getting into his parents hands; while at the same time still trying to go to school and have the non-relationship relationship stay strong. Cash would do anything to protect his brother and take care of Harper.  Harper would do the same for Cash.  When something from Harper’s past could risk Cash losing Remy, let’s just say he was a typical jackass male and caused hurt that could cost him the girl he has come to care about more than he cares to admit.  My heart was breaking during this point, I wanted to just make things right for Cash, Harper and Remy.

I am anxious to see what Ms. Briscoe has in store for Cash and Harper in the final book of this trilogy.  I also hope that we get to see more of our favorite Heaven Hill men because even if Cash isn’t a member of the MC they still consider him family.  Make sure you have read Flagger before starting Collision and be prepared to want a Cash of your very own.

Review: Flagger By Laramie Briscoe

Fast Cars
Quarter-miles
Broken homes
Vulnerable hearts

Cash Montgomery likes fast cars, fast women, and living his life only as far as he can see with his own two eyes. There are very few people in his life who he answers to. One of them being his little brother Remington (Remy).

When Cash and Remy are forced to make a life-changing decision they no longer have a place to live, no idea where their next meal is going to come from, or any prospects as to how they will make it. They need help.

That help comes in the form of the Heaven Hill MC and Harper Stillwell.

Harper Stillwell comes with her own set of problems, but when she and Cash Montgomery meet, sparks fly.

None of them know what they’re doing, where they will end up, or how they’ll get there. The only thing they know is that the race for their lives is only beginning—the flag is waving—and they have to hang on for the ride.

While Flagger is a separate trilogy from the Heaven Hill MC series and it can be read as a standalone; I recommend that you take the time to read the other series if not first then shortly afterwards because there is a cross over that may make you understand who is who a little bit better.  That being said, it is only my personal suggestion.  I have read the entire Heaven Hill series so far so I knew who certain people were prior to beginning Flagger.  Let’s get down to business now shall we?
Flagger is the first book in the Red Bird Trail trilogy and what a way to start!  I lately have had a thing about racing books, oh hell let’s be honest here I love to race in real life and while I may have settled down some since I had kids I still love the thrill of driving fast, knowing that you are in control of how fast you can go.  Cash Montgomery is oh so sexy, he knows he is a badass on the track and let’s face it he’s just a badass period because of how he takes care of his little brother Remy.  I would love to be in the seat next to him during a race, or even afterward, that Harper is a lucky girl.  Harper has her own issues that she is dealing with but her and Cash connect in more than a sexual way, it is almost like the fates conspired for these two to be what not only saves the other but to show what real love is.
Laramie Briscoe is an author that I started reading by chance but continue to read because I know I will get a great book out of her; one that will have me going back for seconds, thirds, fourths, oh hell will have me going back to read whatever it is she plans to write because she has cemented me as a fan for life.  Like I said you don’t have to read the Heaven Hill series first, but if you want a little more background on the characters and get some glimpses of Cash himself in those books I think you will see why I keep coming back for more.

Review Tour: Snow Boy By Kay Manis

Geneva Barton was a bitch—until the threat of criminal charges forced her to confront the demons from her past. Two years later she’s worked hard to overcome her vindictive ways. Everyone has given her a second chance. But does she deserve it?

Maybe a gorgeous stranger on a tropical island, 4,000 miles from home will help her find out.

After suffering heart-breaking loss, Berk Rigby has left his career as a professional snowboarder and returned to his native island home in Kauai, Hawaii. The last thing he deserves is absolution. But when a beautiful guest at his family’s resort forces him to confront his past, he’s suddenly thinking about a future again. A future with her. But does he deserve it?

A chance encounter.

A leap of faith.

A vacation that will last a lifetime.

I’ll be honest when I saw that this book was about Geneva, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see if I could love her after what she did in Skater Boy and My Skater Boy.  I admit I hold grudges against fictional characters, yep I sure do.  Is it the most mature thing to do? Not even close but hey I am who I am and I am not ashamed of it.  And while most readers would have forgiven her after Moto Boy and My Moto Boy I wanted to see for myself if she was worthy of my forgiveness.
Now without giving anything away because I hope you all will go read all of these books if you haven’t yet; I can say that unless she does something to anger me in the next book, My Snow Boy, Geneva has earned not only my forgiveness but my love as well.  Oh I guess I should explain what I meant by that last statement.  Each couple has two books, so Geneva and Berk’s story will be completed in My Snow Boy which comes out in a couple of months, so not a very long wait, and if my impatient ass can handle that then I think all of you will as well.
What I love most about this series is that it is about X-Treme sports, I love seeing the X-Games on T.V. so I knew when I started this series that I would quickly become a fan.  Plus there are very few if any books about these sports and I love reading a new twist in the sports genre.  Added bonus is that these guys are sexy as hell and have you wishing you were their significant other because these guys know how to heat up the sheets.
Make sure you have read the previous books before starting Snow Boy because not only will you understand Geneva’s past and my previous hatred of her but also because the previous couples make appearances in the book.  Kay Manis I am impatiently patiently waiting for My Snow Boy so I can see the conclusion of this story.

Kay Manis lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, daughter and five pound Chihuahua affectionately named “Tiny.” When not writing or researching you’ll find Kay reading a good book, eating out with friends or napping.

Kay’s biggest goal in writing is to amuse, inspire and entertain. If she’s done that for you then she says she’ll always consider herself a success.

Inner Goddess

Release Blitz: Wrong By LP Lovell & Stevie J. Cole

Tor

My life was everything I wanted it to be. It was mapped out and planned. I wanted it all, the career, the right husband, the white picket fence and kids. Until he was thrust into my world, ripping me from it. My carefully planned life shattered, proving to be nothing more than a cheap illusion, and now I’m living in this twisted form of hell, where enemies and friends are one and the same. I thought I wanted perfection. Now I don’t know what I want – perhaps not even my own freedom.

Jude

I define wrong. I thrive on the corrupted greed of others, on their trivial hope, and their false optimism. I am the bookie, and the bookie always wins. For those whose hopes far outweigh the depths of their pockets, well, let’s just say paying with your life is not just a figure of speech.

I have always been in control, until suddenly I’m not any more. The day one of my collectors dragged her into my office as payment on a debt, I should have killed them both right there, but I didn’t. Now she threatens my control, threatens everything I’ve built, and yet I still can’t kill her. Why can’t I kill her?

By the time I’m done with her, she may pray for death.

Everything is not always as it seems. Lust, blood, lies…Nothing this wrong should feel so right.

If you are a fan of darker romances then I think you will enjoy Wrong.  It isn’t as dark as some of the dark disturbing reads that I have read before but it is it’s own brand of dark.  I am sure that doesn’t make sense to you but it does for me and will for you when you read the book.  This review is going to be short and sweet because I am really worried I will give away even the littlest details and I don’t want to do that.

I am going to just say there is angst, there is darkness, there is romance, there is suspense, there is vengeance, there is just a whole lot that will keep you on the edge of your seats.  My poor stomach and heart went on such a roller coaster ride I wasn’t sure if I would survive Wrong, let alone be able to continue on to the next book but yes a million times yes, I can and will.  Jude and Victoria have me addicted and needing more of all the things that had my heart racing and stomach in knots.

I love writing (obvious since I’m on here, right?) I don’t have a specific genre – I just write whatever story manifests itself inside my brain.

Writing is like therapy. There is nothing else that I can lose myself in the way I can a story. It amazes me that words can take you away from reality and leave you in a dazed state once you’ve finished.

Aside from writing, I love sloths and mythology. I kind of have a thing for vampires, because let’s face it, something about the fact that they fight the urge to bite your neck and drain the life from you is rather sexy. I have an irrational fear of the zombie apocalypse. I honestly cannot imagine a more horrifying way to go than by being ripped to shreds by a mass of mumbling, decaying, and oozing corpses with clicking teeth. Ugh! I just shuddered typing it.

Now the boring basics: I’m married with two wonderful children. I grew up in the south listening to a ton of grunge rock. Me and my sister have an obsession with going to concerts and getting front and center. We often fight over who can get the most swag from the band. I have an unhealthy obsession with Russell Brand’s mind, and the smell of crayons is the most soothing smell there is.

I hope if you read my work that you will enjoy it. After all, writing is the most amazing magic trick of all… it puts the reader in the mind of the writer (kind of creepy if you think about it). It’s scary inside my brain, watch out!

I hope you love my little worlds as much as I do.

Virtual Tour: Rush By Gina Gordon

In this edgy, sizzling romance for fans of Monica Murphy and Abbi Glines, a bad boy shows a straitlaced law student how to slow down and savor the good things.
Everly Parker is about to graduate from law school, always busy, and can’t stop rushing through life. Her late grandmother left her a bucket list of meaningful, can’t-miss experiences, but she hasn’t completed a single one. Then searing-hot Max Levin bursts into her world. As a casting director for a porn production company, Max is loaded, cocky, and all wrong for Everly. Still, she’s tempted enough to cross the first item off her list: Go out with someone you’d never give the time of day.

Inheriting a porn empire isn’t every guy’s dream (well, actually, it probably is), but Max isn’t complaining. It’s just that until he meets Everly, he has no idea what he’s been missing. As the pressure mounts to take over the family business, Max can’t help wondering what would happen if he chose Everly instead. So far, his life has been a wild ride, but only Everly promises the greatest rush of all: love.

Perceptions, preconceived notions, expectations, and first impressions.  All of these things can control our lives more than we would ever imagine.  For some those four things are what we think make us who we are or are what we use to judge others.  Sometimes these can be spot on but other times, they can be so wrong you feel like you no longer know what is the truth and what is an act that we want others to see.
Take Max for instance.  Everly couldn’t put another face to Max besides porn when she first met him.  She didn’t know who he was deep inside, what he really wanted to do with himself, not that Max knew right then either.  Slowly she got to see that he was more, and it was the more that she loved about him.  Max was supposed to take over his father’s porn company, it was what was expected of him to do, even if he didn’t want to.  He wasn’t happy, he wanted more and when Everly walked into his life he slowly began to know what he wanted, that being her.
Everly is in law school.  Both of her parents are lawyers so it is the expectations of her parents that she follow in their foot steps.  They are controlling and judgmental and make her life hell.  Her grandmother saw beyond the mask and wanted Everly to experience life and to live.  Max helps her with that, but even though she is falling for him and they have this amazing chemistry, she worries that she is to dull and boring for him.  I really felt bad more than once because of what other’s would say or do to get her to doubt herself and the relationship she had with Max.
I really enjoyed Rush, and I can’t wait to see who the next book in the series will be about.  The idea about the porn company owner and the law school student was one that I just couldn’t pass up.  Remember the four things I mentioned in the very first sentence of this review?  Rush shows that you shouldn’t always judge people without knowing them and just because someone’s career choice may not be your own, you have no idea about the real person beyond the title you may end up more surprised than you would ever imagine.

Excerpt
“I’m in the business of bringing fantasy to life, Ms. Parker.” I was mesmerized by the soft swell of her breasts that poked above the neckline of her shirt. So subtle and delicate. “I bet you’ve got a few stored away for a rainy day.”
A sharp snap brought my attention back to her face. “Don’t you know it’s rude not to look someone in the face when talking to them?” When I finally brought my eyes up and away from her breasts, she was glaring at me. Her shoulders had migrated to her ears in annoyance.
I was usually a lot subtler when checking out the opposite sex. Not that I had to be. It was my job to analyze every curve and swell of a woman’s body, but served me right for giving in to my baser desires. She had totally called me on it.
“Hmm . . . I guess I don’t.” I stepped forward and walked around her, just as the hard crunching noise of the coffee grinder went off in the distance.
I liked this girl. She may be hiding what I was positive was an above-average body behind those frumpy clothes, but she had gumption. Confidence. Yet not the confidence I was used to. I made my living working with women who found their sense of self with their bodies. But not this woman. I had an inkling that her confidence originated from being first in her class.
Her head swiveled with my movements and I heard her tiny gasps for breath as I hovered, each time getting closer. Finally, I leaned in and whispered, “Want to teach me a lesson?” I grinned then stepped away, but not before I saw the shiver race up her spine.
So you do have an effect on her.
But when I turned to face her, she had already forgotten my affect on her body. “Somehow I have the feeling you’ve already got a long line of scorned women ready to teach you a lesson in manners.”
I heard Ben chuckle behind me, then clear his throat.

“Touché, Ms. Parker.”
“I have studying to do, so . . .” She lifted her chin, eyes blazing at me. “I’ll leave you to
your meeting.”

“It’s too bad.” I squeezed myself back into the booth and kicked out one leg, resting my arm along the top of the seat back. “Guess I won’t be getting the lashing I so deserve.”

She laughed me off. Actually laughed at my words. Not that cute little giggle women
usually got when I laid it on thick, but laughed at me. “Goodbye.” She walked away, but not before giving me one last look that cut right through me.
I’d been eyed before. By women and men. Always with a glimmer of seduction or the blatant go-ahead to bring them to my bedroom. But never like this. Never with such disregard for everything I was and everything I stood for. This woman didn’t know me. She was just like the others. Judging a book before she looked between the covers—and being a student, she should know better.
But I was used to people belittling my work and my character. I’d dealt with it my whole life. I knew what it was like to have people call my mother a dirty slut. How it felt to have my father compared to a pimp. But even after all the teasing and taunting that only adolescents could hammer at me, never had I ever felt the need to defend myself so thoroughly.
I returned my attention to Ben, Jade, and Stella, almost forgetting why I was here.
“Sorry about that,” Jade said. “Everly can be a bit uptight sometimes. She’s just stressed out with studying.”
“So, where were we,” Stella asked, leaning against me. From across the table, Ben stared with a curious, but shocked face. “I think we were going to give you a little sneak peek of our skills.” She purred and pawed at me like a cat in heat.
I wasn’t interested in watching a show. I was . . . confused. Confused at the fact that I was more interested in the bookworm three tables away than the two beautiful women in front of me.
Was it because I was taken aback by her quick wit and innocent smile? Or was it something more? Was it because she saw right through me? She knew I was Max Levin, the porn guy. But she . . . didn’t care.
I had walked into this café with the intent of meeting and signing two escorts to short- term contracts. Instead, I wanted nothing more than to figure out why that Plain Jane had just woken up my cock. More importantly, why her indifference toward me actually hit a nerve. Women usually batted their eyelashes and looked at me with a dreamy gaze. Not this girl, she wasn’t wooed by my charms or status. And it was fucking intriguing.
“Would you excuse me a minute?”
Ben shot me a quizzical look. “Where are you going?”
“Ladies, would you mind discussing with Mr. Lockwood your boundaries? The type of scenes you’d be willing to film.” I stood and pulled out a draft contract from my pocket. “He’ll also discuss the average payouts.” I looked at him and clapped him on the shoulder. “Page twelve.”
The bookworm had just presented me with a challenge.
I wasn’t done with her. Not by a long shot.

Blog Tour: Pretty Remedy By S.E. Hall

Envy is a silent, cold-blooded killer, extinguishing a little more life from me every day.
Hitting sharp, fast and seemingly out of nowhere; struck by lightning not a storm cloud in sight… in she rolls. Reece Madison, a force to be reckoned with, head of the class- which means one thing- she’s out of mine.
“You’re wasting your time Rhett Foster. Locks have keys and walls can be climbed. I’m not buying your cold, skeptical act for one minute.”
And then there’s that…
But as much as she compels me to open up, show her what no one else gets to see…there’s guilty shadows lurking in the depths of her eyes that she cannot hide.
Pretty Remedy is the second book in S.E. Hall’s Finally Found series, and for me it was even better than the first book Pretty Instinct.  S.E. Hall just has a way that has you loving her characters from the start, and her hero’s are some of my favorite book boyfriends.
Pretty Remedy is a funny, sweet read that slowly builds into something sexy and has you hooked from the first page until the last.  I loved how Rhett was basically knocked on his ass by Reece.  The chemistry between them is indescribable, the banter will have you snorting in laughter and even though both have their own personal issues that when you have the right person by your side and in your heart all of those things can be overcome.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to read this series yet, take the time to pick up Pretty Instinctand then Pretty Remedy.  I can’t wait for S.E. Hall to release the next book in this series because if it is as kick ass as Pretty Remedy was then her fans will be in for a special treat that is for damn sure.

It always happens the same way, every time. The second I finish coming, the blip of exhilaration dissipates, and I’m left feeling vapid and angry. I turn my back on my latest conquest and, blocking out the images of insincere, physical satiation, I scurry off like a criminal. Maybe I should quit fucking them.
Or maybe I shouldn’t. The tête-à-têtes, and unrequited clinginess as much their fault as my own—more in fact, if everyone’s being honest with themselves. I tell them, straight up, in plain English, no “code” or sidestepping what I’m really saying, that it’s one fuck. I offer absolutely nothing more, and they accept. But women have a specific order and purpose to everything they do. It shouldn’t eat at me when another woman discovers her plan didn’t work, and surprise, she isn’t the one “different” enough to change me.
You want to be the lady worthy of a call the next day, flowers, a ring? Then don’t ride the dick until you get at least one of them. And if you do jump on—gyrating and grinding in what you’re just certain is some mystical, “He’s never had it so good before” kind of way, and it doesn’t work—don’t blame anyone but yourself. Who was really trying to manipulate who?
