Special Post: Kristen Proby’s Secret Announcement & Reveal

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby has been sitting on a secret, and we get to share it with you today! We think all of her readers across the board will be thrilled to hear what’s coming next!
Check out what Kristen has to say about the upcoming plans…
Dear readers,
As you know, the With Me In Seattle series came to a close earlier this month with the eighth and final installment, FOREVER WITH ME. I’ve been steadfast in my decision that there would be no further stories from the series, no spin-offs, nothing more. In my mind, it was complete.
And I still feel that the Montgomery/Williams families are complete, and I maintain that I’m happy with their happy-ever-afters.
But, I’ve also heard you when you’ve said that Asher, Matt Montgomery’s partner in TIED WITH ME, deserves to have a happily ever after for himself and his daughter Casey. So, when the lovely ladies from 1001 Dark Nights asked me to participate in their wonderful project, I thought long and hard about whose story it should be about. Seattle is finished, and I’ve moved on to New Orleans for the new Boudreaux Series… And then it occurred to me: why not do both, and offer a companion novella to each of the series?
And so, because you, the reader, has been so insistent that you want to see Asher and Casey find their perfect person, I’m excited to introduce you to EASY WITH YOU. I think you’re going to love Asher and Lila’s love story this spring…
Happy Reading,
Kristen Proby
EASY WITH YOU, a companion novella to both the With Me in Seattle Series and her upcoming Boudreaux Series, will be releasing March 24, 2015! Now you can see some of your favorite characters again while they interact with some new ones. We’re so excited to get Asher and Lila’s story! Check out the cover for the novella and all the information on EASY WITH YOU below!
Nothing has ever come easy for Lila Bailey. She’s fought for every good thing in her life during every day of her thirty-one years. Aside from that one night with an impossible to deny stranger a year ago, Lila is the epitome of responsible.
Steadfast. Strong.
She’s pulled herself out of the train wreck of her childhood, proud to be a professor at Tulane University and laying down roots in a city she’s grown to love. But when some of her female students are viciously murdered, Lila’s shaken to the core and unsure of whom she can trust in New Orleans. When the police detective assigned to the murder case comes to investigate, she’s even more surprised to find herself staring into the eyes of the man that made her toes curl last year.
In an attempt to move on from the tragic loss of his wife, Asher Smith moved his daughter and himself to a new city, ready for a fresh start. A damn fine police lieutenant, but new to the New Orleans force, Asher has a lot to prove to his colleagues and himself.
With a murderer terrorizing the Tulane University campus, Asher finds himself toe-to-toe with the one woman that haunts his dreams. His hands, his lips, his body know her as intimately as he’s ever known anyone. As he learns her mind and heart as well, Asher wants nothing more than to keep her safe, in his bed, and in his and his daughter’s lives for the long haul.
But when Lila becomes the target, can Asher save her in time, or will he lose another woman he loves?

Blog Tour and Review: Logan’s Acadian Wolves by Kym Grosso

Kym Grosso has a way of pulling you into the story from the very beginning. From the very first sentence I was hooked on this story.

Logan’s Acadian Wolves picks up with the death of the Alpha of the Acadian Wolves. As the Alpha is dying, Logan makes a deathbed promise to the Alpha to take over as Alpha of the Acadian Wolves.

From there, it just gets more interesting.

Logan meets Wynter as she’s running from vampires. She’s escaped from them, as she’s been held captive for quite some time. Logan decides to help her.

Wynter was human. I say human because now she’s wolf. She’s been changed and no one knows exactly how this is going to play out.

As Logan is protecting Wynter, he realizes, reluctantly, that she’s his mate. Poor Wynter keeps screwing up. She’s not pack so she doesn’t realize how her actions affect Logan and thusly the pack. It’s one misunderstanding after another.

Logan decides she needs a lesson in how to be wolf. And OMG! What a lesson it was! It was SO hot! I’ll never look at kitchen counters the same!

Logan is an enigmatic character. Once again we Kym Grosso has created a character who is flawed. But it’s his flaws that make him that much more wonderful. You can’t help but love him for his flaws.

Wynter is just as flawed. She makes mistakes but owns up to them and tries to do what is right. She has moments of weakness, as any person would, but she always finds her inner strength. That inner strength keeps her going.

I’m very excited by the epilogue of this one. It looks to be another intriguing story in the Immortals of New Orleans Series!

Excerpt

“Odd vampire, isn’t he?” Wynter noted.
“That he is. My gut tells me he abides by some code of honor, but don’t ever mistake him for anything but what he is,” Logan warned.
“A monster?”Logan smiled. “Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster.” She laughed. “Another quote?”
“Friedrich Nietzsche,” Logan confirmed. He took her hands in his. “We have a few hours before it’s time to leave. I know I should be encouraging you to go relax, take a nap or something sensible like that.”
“Relax, huh? How ‘bout a bubble bath? Or a massage?” She winked and dragged her finger down his chest.
“A bath sounds good to me as long as I’m in there with you.” Logan pulled her flush to him, burying his head in her neck and growled. “You drive me crazy, do you know that? I can’t keep my hands off you.”
Wynter giggled, growing aroused, loving the feel of his warm lips on her skin. She looked over to the table and gave him a sexy smile. “My Alpha,” she began seductively. “You know, I just noticed that this is a really nice table. Sturdy. Long. Hard.”
My Alpha? Logan’s cock thickened at her words. The table isn’t the only hard thing in this room, baby. He glanced to its wooden top then back to her with a smile.
“African mahogany. A friend custom made it for me. You like?”
“Oh I like. I mean, it looks very functional. I bet we could get a lot of work done at this table,” she mused with a wink. Meeting his eyes, she gave him a suggestive smile and cocked her eyebrow. She slid her hand down between his legs and cupped his hard arousal. “You know, I always wondered what it would be like to be a secretary. I’ve been looking around here, and it seems you’re in need of some assistance.”
Logan hissed, closing his eyes. Holy shit, that felt amazing.
“How about I fill in for your secretary today?” she asked. “I’m very good at dictation, sir.”
Wynter had never in her life been so forward. But after making love to Logan, she craved him more than ever. As though she were addicted to a drug, she needed more. The warmth between her legs grew painful. Feeling flirtatious and horny, she didn’t think it would take very long to entice him into her fantasy.
Logan eyed Wynter, hardly believing he could be so lucky. His naughty little wolf wanted a romp in the office? Seriously? His brain said ‘no way’, but his burgeoning erection said, ‘hell yes’. He’d have to be careful not to get carried away. His wolf wanted this woman in the worst way, sought to claim her.
“Sweetheart, I don’t think you know what you’re askin’. My wolf, he’s restless.” He gently nipped at her collarbone, as if to give her fair warning. If he took her, it was going to be rough and hard.
“But I do…I know exactly what I’m agreeing to.” Wynter leaned into Logan and placed a kiss to his chin then dragged her tongue along his bottom lip and kissed him.

“Do you now?” Logan grabbed a fistful of her hair, gently pulling her head backwards. Revealing her neck, he licked at the hollow until she gasped.

Review: Relentless Seduction by Jillian Burns

Mardi Gras in New Orleans….Anything goes….at least until someone goes missing. Claire is the good-girl. The microbiologist who always does what she’s supposed to do, brainiac, dedicated to her work……boring. Julia is her wild-child best friend who goes missing in the French Quarter. Her last known location…..a bar called Once Bitten.
Rafe owns and runs Once Bitten. He caters to those who are the edge of society. The vampire wannabes. When Claire comes in asking about her friend, he steps in to help her, against his better judgement.
I enjoyed the mystery and suspense of looking for Julia and then the attempt to save her once they found her. Rafe was an enigma. He didn’t want to get involved but he couldn’t help himself. He felt compelled to help Claire and as he did, he started to fall for her. He was leery of falling for her because no one ever sticks around. They always leave. It was fun to watch Rafe fight with his inner demons to reach out to Claire. He was often an ass to her. A defense mechanism.
Claire was interesting as well. She realized how boring her life back in Boston was. She slowly realized that she wasn’t living life, she was existing. Rafe brought out the best in her. She took Rafe’s hurtful words in stride. They hurt her, but she also began to realize why he acted like that. She didn’t lash out at him and wasn’t a bitch, but she also wasn’t a doormat to him. She had an inner strength that really came through in hear search for Julia.
New Orleans proved to be an interesting backdrop for this story. I loved the talk of voodoo and vampires. As I was reading it took me a while to figure out if they were real vampires or wannabe vampires. In either case, it made the story more interesting and the plot more dangerous.
This was my first book by Jillian Burns and I look forward to reading more from her.
