Review: Facing Fire (Bad Boys Undercover #3) by Helenkay Dimon

Be still my Strike Back ever loving heart! Seriously, fans of the former Cinemax show, Strike Back, will love love love this series. It’s full of gun-toting action, suspense, intrigue, hot-steamy sex scenes…the whole shebang, people!
Josiah King is an operative with the Alliance–a covert, black ops team dealing with bad guys in unconventional ways. The Alliance has an old enemy hunting them down, and he’s making it personal. We open with a brutal scene involving Josiah’s uncle. And Josiah and the team are forced to watch it unfold, helpless to stop it. Fueled by vengeance and determined to protect their own, the Alliance is relentless in their pursuit of this enemy.
Sutton Dahl is on a mission of her own. A private investigator from the U.S. is hunting the streets of Paris for the man who’s behind her mother’s death. However, thinking him a mere con-artist, she has no idea the danger she has truly put herself in. Sutton and the Alliance are after the same man.
Sutton’s digging around puts her on the Alliance’s radar, and in Josiah’s direct path. He thinks she’s working with the enemy, and she has no idea how much she can trust him with. Her snooping around however, has not gone unnoticed by their mutual enemy. And her life is in danger.
From start to finish, I was on edge with this book. The action is amazing and pretty much non-stop. Bullets fly. Bombs explode. Hostages are taken. Ms. Dimon does not hold back. And thus being true to the story she unfolds for us, not everyone walks away. The characters, every single one of them, fight for survival. The enemy is a ruthless, vile monster set on destroying them. And I ate up every word.
Oh and those steamy sex scenes I talked about. Yeah, the kind where you’re so damned attracted to someone and you don’t want to be, but your heart says “screw you” and takes the reigns, it’s like that. Hot, explosive, consuming and terrifying for Sutton and Josiah. Both of them are out of their element in this situation. And neither know if it’s the adrenaline driving them or if they have an actual shot at something more once the dust settles. But before they can decide that, they have to survive.
I highly recommend this read. 5 explosive stars from me.

I couldn’t resist giving you a visual of my Josiah (AKA Philip Winchester)

Virtual Tour: Broken Play By Samantha Kane

Perfect for fans of Shayla Black and Lexi Blake, the deeply sensual new Birmingham Rebels series introduces an unforgettable team of chiseled football gods—and the daring, provocative games they play behind closed doors.

Birmingham Rebels offensive linemen Beau Perez and Cass Zielinski are inseparable, on and off the field. Cass, the captain with the cowboy swagger, is a loose cannon. Beau, the veteran tight end, is cool under pressure. And ever since they were caught on tape in a steamy threesome, their exploits have fueled more than a few tabloid headlines—and naughty fantasies.

Marian Treadwell knows all about the video. And now that she’s the Rebels’ new assistant offensive coach, she can’t look at Beau and Cass without picturing their hard, naked bodies—with her pressed in between. Marian would like nothing more than to indulge those impulses, but she knows better than to get too close to her players, a bunch of adrenaline-fueled alpha males who don’t always follow the rules.

Just the thought of sharing the gorgeous yet guarded Marian drives Cass wild. At first, Beau isn’t sure she’s right for them . . . and lately, all he desires is a little alone time with Cass to explore their new intimacy. But it’s only a matter of time before Cass breaks through both of their defenses. Because when seduction is the game plan, he always plays to win.

Broken Play is intended for mature audiences.

I have had a weird streak of really good arc’s and then I will have a ton that I either do not finish or rate extremely low.  I have sadly been on the bad and do not finish streak as of late.  So going into Broken Play I will admit I honestly kind of thought this will be another one to add to the bad streak, but I couldn’t have been more wrong!  It was extremely hot and I really enjoyed it.  Hello it’s about football players, a ménage and possibly some m/m action.  Of course I loved it, it had three of my favorite things!

Broken Play will have you changing your panties more than once.  I am serious here people, these scenes and the buildup are some that will have you all hot and bothered.  The connection that Cass, Beau and Marian have is electrifying.  This isn’t just about a ménage, so let me get that perfectly clear right now.  It is also about friendship, trust, healing and opening your mind to new scenarios.  I enjoyed the introduction of the other characters as well, they played a large part in the book and I am curious to see what the author has planned for them.  I hope the next book comes out soon because I really do want to read more about these bad boys of football.

Blog Tour: Hard For My Best Friend’s Sister By Ava Jackson

Hard Cover
The last time I saw her, she was asleep—and I’d just taken her virginity.

She was my best friend’s little sister. I’d broken the guy code, and the guilt had me running before she woke.

Ten years later, she’s a corporate bad ass negotiating across the table from me—and hotter than ever. I want my second chance, but she’s all grown up and isn’t about to hand it to me.

This time, I’ve got a whole different game plan in mind.

The last time I saw him, he was balls deep inside me—and I’d just lost my virginity. When I woke up he was gone.

Ten years hasn’t erased the sting of rejection. And now he wants his second chance?

I swore I’d say no … but then he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse: when we’re working, we’re strangers, but at night? He’ll make my every dirty fantasy come true.

This time, I’m not going to be the one left wanting more. Standalone steamy, erotic romance.

Hard For My Best Friend’s Sister.  Okay let me stop right there for a minute, that title is what made me want to read it.  Do you know why? Well because I love these types of romances, ones where you want the brother or sister of your friends, and even though you know you shouldn’t get involved, when you do it could be either the biggest mistake of your life or the best thing you have ever done.
Now with that being said, while Hard For My Best Friend’s Sister, was a quick and sexy read, for me it was just okay.  I wish we would have had more of what their relationship was in the past.  Were they friends prior to them sleeping together and Cameron  made the biggest mistake in his life and left Dylan after their one night?  I just wish there would have been more to make me understand why them not talking for ten years was such a huge thing.  Don’t get me wrong the sex was hot and I even wanted more scenes with them. I think I just needed more.  I know this is a novella but if it had been a full length with the things I wished were included I think I would have loved it.

Release Blitz: Where We Belong By: J. Daniels

From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, J. Daniels, an Alabama Summer series novella.

Ben and Mia Kelly can’t seem to catch a break.

Grueling night shift and opposing schedules have left the passionate couple geared up and ready for some much needed alone time. There’s only one thing standing in their way.

With two curious boys who have mastered the art of cock-blocking roaming the house, Ben and Mia, sexually frustrated beyond reason, quickly resort to surprise sexcapades and naughty little trysts whenever and however they can get them.

Who said anything about keeping things legal?

Assume the position. Things are about to heat up in the south.

Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.

I fell in love with this series when I first read Where I Belong, because Ben and his “Angel” Mia just drew me into not just their sexual chemistry but the way that they were with each other.  So when I got the email from the tour company about a surprise release from J. Daniels and the opportunity to review it I was excited.  When I found out it was a novella about Ben and Mia I was even more so.
Anyone with kids can relate to Where We Belong.  I have two small children, ages four and almost two and I swear it is like they have this radar that pings when me and my husband try to spend any alone time with each other.  Yes my children can be little cockblockers at times, just like everyone’s kids can be.  So I laughed a lot while reading Ben and Mia’s struggle with having some alone time after months of being cockblocked by their boys.  I was like “oh I know the frustration that can cause”. I loved how even being married for a couple of years and two kids hasn’t dulled the heat in their relationship and both still want each other just as much if not more than when they first got together.
Now it wasn’t all happiness.  There are some serious elements as well, some that I am sure all step parents feel at times.  Now I am not gonna tell you what that means, you will just have to read it for yourself, but know I wanted to throw down with a certain bitch when I read what I read.

If you are a fan of this series then I think you will love Where We Belong.  It was the perfect little glimpse into Ben and Mia’s marriage and their attempt to never let that intense passion between them die.

Virtual Tour: Release Me By Ann Marie Walker & Amy K. Rogers

The second in the “seriously sexy and sinfully steamy”* Chasing Fire series, about a pain too deep to forgive and a passion too hot to forget…

Alessandra Sinclair knows that Hudson Chase is the last man she should want. The boy from the wrong side of the tracks has grown into a man who would do anything to get ahead, even if it means breaking Allie’s heart. But whenever she’s near him, the attraction between them is undeniable. And now that they’re working together, keeping her distance from Hudson is almost as impossible as keeping her feelings in check…

Hudson already lost Allie once and he refuses to lose her again. He’s determined to use their new business partnership to rekindle the spark he knows is still there. Only the closer he gets to winning her over, the clearer it becomes there are still secrets that could tear them apart for good…

If you haven’t read book one yet, stop and go read it because Release Me picks up where Remind Me leaves off.  I’m serious here people, go read Remind Me, not only does it introduce the storyline and characters, it is a really good book.  Plus since this is a trilogy you kind of have to read all the books to get the full picture, or story to be more appropriate.
I am going to try to keep this on the shorter side so I don’t give any spoilers away, or to many hints as to what happens in this one.  So I will pretty much just say the following.  Release Me is hot if not hotter than Remind Me was, there is angst, drama, super hot sex, it will keep you wanting to know the answers to questions left unanswered, and will make you yell, cry or scream out in frustration only to keep on reading.  And yes there is a cliff hanger, hello this is a trilogy people, of course there will be one.  These two authors have the formula down to keep their readers wanting more and I want more!

Blog Tour: Curve Ball By Sloan Johnson

Jason Klein’s living with the fallout from a decision he knew was the right one at the time. He never told anyone about the love of his life, which left him to mourn alone when he found out the man he gave his heart to had been killed in combat. Now, his heart has had time to heal, but he’s not sure he’s ready to let himself move on. Until he meets Cam Morgan…

Without a job lined up following graduation, Cam Morgan took his best friend up on his offer to move to Milwaukee and stay with him until he could get on his feet. The last thing he wanted to do the day after getting to town was go to a party filled with a bunch of jocks. Sure, they were “professional athletes” but Cam was convinced that bigger bank accounts didn’t make them any more accepting of people like him. He certainly didn’t expect to meet Jason, the Mavericks’ catcher who broke every stereotype he’d had.

What started out as one hot, sweaty night together quickly grows into something deeper. Jason welcomes Cam into his home and his life, but now he has to teach the younger man that it’s not a sign of weakness to let people help you.

If you are looking for a sexy m/m read with the addition of it being a sports themed as well then this one is for you.  Curve Ball is the second book in the Homeruns series and I loved it even more than the first book.  I love sport themed books, and this series so far is a homerun in itself.
I absolutely loved Cam and his love for food.  He knew even though he just graduated culinary school that he was damn good, can that be considered cockiness?  Possibly but he was also confident and wanted everyone to eat great food not bad.  His friendship with Drew is what brought him to town but you quickly see that even if Jason and him swear they aren’t serious, it’s Jason that he stays for.  I will admit at times I wanted to grab Jason by his balls, and no I am not referring to baseballs here, and make him open his eyes to his real feelings towards Cam.  These two have their own demons to face and overcome but together they are able to do just that.  And the chemistry between them was hot!  I did feel bad for Drew up to a point, because I felt his pain but in a way it is on him for not being open from the start.

I am really anticipating the next book in the series, I have a feeling it’s going to involve a triple play, with a homerun and maybe a grand slam.  Okay I will admit that was a horrible but I don’t care because I really want more from this series right now.

“If you have something to say to me, just say it.” I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel to keep from shaking Drew. He was one of the youngest guys on the team, and right now, his immaturity showed through brightly. It was about time someone knocked some sense into him, before he wound up earning a bad reputation, both on the field and off. “I won’t apologize, because I haven’t done a damn thing to offend you.”
“Really? I shouldn’t be pissed off that I had no clue you were gay?” Drew seethed, his brown eyes narrow slits as he glared at me. “And I should be totally cool with you loading up my friend in the middle of the night to take him back to your place, right?”
“Yeah, actually you should,” I quipped, twisting the wheel tighter. “Cam is a grown man, and if you truly care about him, you should be fucking ecstatic that he’s getting out there to meet people.”
Drew muttered something to himself as he went back to staring out the window. His shoulders slumped forward and he seemed to shrink in his seat. I knew that look. It wasn’t one worn by a concerned or pissed off friend, it was the look of a man who felt the love of his life slipping away from him.
“How long have you felt this way about him?” I asked. My chest tightened, knowing that I wouldn’t stand between them. Drew and I might not be close, but I liked to think of him as a friend, a brother on the team.
“Doesn’t matter.” The response was so quiet I could barely hear the words. As I pulled up to the stoplight, I placed my hand on Drew’s shoulder, unsurprised when he jerked away.
“It does,” I assured him. “And you have to know I wouldn’t have done anything with him if I’d known.”
“Don’t say that. I’ve known for a long time that he’d never feel for me what I do for him.” I suddenly missed the anger Drew showed earlier. “If the way he looked this morning is any indication, you’re exactly what he needs in his life. And if I put my own feelings aside, you’re more than that. You’re what he’s always wanted.”
That was not how I expected this conversation to go. It started exactly as I’d seen it in my mind, but I hadn’t expected Drew to step aside. Maybe I was wrong in thinking that he was immature and selfish.
“Drew, if you say the word, I’ll back off. I’m not willing to destroy two friendships just for a few nights of fun.”
“The only way I’d ask you to do that is if that’s all this is for you.” I pulled up in front of the grocery store, but neither of us moved to open our doors. “Cam is one of the best guys I know. He’s got a big heart, but sometimes, he’s a little too open with it. If you’re only in this for a couple of hot nights, then yeah you should walk away from him.”
I felt backed into a corner. Sure, I’d thought about what it’d be like to explore something more with Cam, but I wasn’t in a place to do that. It had nothing to do with being on the road most of the year and everything to do with my own inability to be open with those around me. I’d grown accustomed to never letting anyone get too close, and Cam had already seen more than people I’d known for years. There was no way I’d be able to hold back if last night and tonight turned into something more.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” It was the most I could promise him.

Author Bio:
Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s life. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.
When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.
Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?
Now, Sloan is a tattooed mom with a mohawk and two kids. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself with a good book and forget she has somewhere to be.

ARC Review: HIM By Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?

Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.

Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself.

Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

I love a great hockey book, I love a great M/M book even more, but what I love even more is when the two genres are combined into one.  HIMhad me from the very start, I absolutely loved how we not only got to see Jamie and Ryan’s relationship in the present, but also glimpses at how they were as best friends in the past.  You wanted Jamie and Ryan to not only work through what caused them to drift apart all those years ago but you want these two to be together as a couple; because you can just tell these two are perfect for one another.
Jamie is straight, or is he?  Well he does have a female friend with benefits that I personally wanted to vag punch on more than one occasion.  Why you may ask?  Well it is because I wanted Jamie and Ryan together, even if Jamie didn’t know at first he would be attracted to guys as well, and well she was kind of bordering on pathetic and clingy if you ask me.  Yep he is Bi but once his eyes are opened I don’t see him ever going back to the females.  Ryan is the prankster, the one who you can dare to do just about anything and he would have done it.  He is also the one who I think has the bigger heart of the two, I say this because he is worried that for Jamie it isn’t what it is for him, finally being with the man he has been in love with for years.  I loved not only the chemistry these two shared, but the friendship, the history and the love they had for each other.  And for me that is what will make a relationship stay strong and last, when it is more than just about the sex (oh hush yeah I know I love me some sexy times but I am trying to be serious here people) but about a connection that only grows stronger with time.
The authors did an amazing job in flowing everything so smoothly that you can’t tell that two authors not just one wrote this.  A lot of times you can see the switch up because the styles aren’t the same or their writing style is different but Ms. Bowen and Ms. Kennedy did a beautiful job at writing HIM and making this reviewer fall in love with Jamie and Ryan.  I hope we get to read more of these authors working together in the future because these two ladies are two of my favorites.

Release Blitz: Raber Wolf Pack Book Two By Ryan Michele

“There will come a time in our world when greed, power, and wealth will overrule good judgment, and packs will be destroyed.”
In the blink of an eye, everything can change, altering life as we know it forever.
Kenly’s intuition told her not to go, but she didn’t listen.
Being human, Kenly never had contact with the wolves that lived in Lakeside. One night changes that in a horrific way, opening her eyes to all of the secrets hidden from her over the years.
One night opens doors she never realized existed, transforming her entire world.
As Beta of the Raber Wolf Pack, Max is always in control, until one mission leads him to a bleeding woman in an alley.
Max instantly scents Kenly as his mate, creating tension within the pack and unleashing consequences that he doesn’t how to contain.
Will Max be able to pull her through the upcoming events? If Kenly survives, will she return to her human life and leave Max behind?

Raber Wolf Packbook two has the same action with a side of romance and some funny moments we found in the previous book.  This is going to be short and quick because I don’t want to give anything away.
I loved Max, he was the perfect mix of alpha, well technically beta if you want to be specific, sexy, dominant, protector, and wolf.  He knew that Kenly was his mate but he had more at stake then just convincing her that they were meant to be.  Nope not gonna give it away sorry folks.  I will say this, Kenly did tend to get on my nerves a little, more than once I wanted to just either slap some sense into her or just shake the living hell out of her, but in the end she grew on me.   I love how everything is slowly starting to come together, we still have questions that need to be answered but I have a feeling we haven’t seen nothing yet.

“Well Ryan Michele, you’ve done it again. You’ve written another unbelievably awesome story and sequel known as Raber Wolf Pack: Book Two. I bow down at your epicness!” ~ Southern Vixen Book Obsession

“Ryan Michele sent me through the woods of suspense. Alphas, magic, shifters and very growl worthy scenes. I am ready for more from Ryan Michele.” ~ Goodreads Reviewer

Ryan Michele has a huge obsession with reading, which only came to life after her best friend said she had to read Twilight. After reading that series, her entire world changed in the blink of an eye. Not only was she sucked into new worlds and all of the wonderful words authors put down on paper, she felt the urge to begin to write down the characters that played inside of her head. In doing so, Safe was born. When she’s not reading or writing, she spends time taking care of her two children and her husband, enjoying the outdoors and laying in the sun.

She’s always sought pleasure first and never found a man that turned her down; until Garrett Hale. Never in her life was she forced to pursue a man, but his rejection doesn’t sit well with her. Alexa aches for Garrett, his rejection festering in her gut. The yearning for him escalating until she is able to seduce him, taste him.

Mutually satisfying sex without commitment is his newly adopted lifestyle. Alexa’s constant temptation has his restraint wavering. The aftermath of giving into her would be messy; she is after all the best friend of his cousin’s girlfriend, which guarantees future run-ins, not something that’s supposed to happen with a one night stand. Yet, the allure of having his mouth on her is almost more than he can bear.
With hearts on the line, and ever increasing desire burning through them both, will one night be enough for either of them?
This is the second book in the Hale Series.
Book 3 in the Hale Series is Josie and Kaleb’s story: Hot as Hale
Recommended for readers 18 and up due to strong language and explicit sexual content

You know when you find a new author and he or she puts out an amazing first book, one that you absolutely devoured and loved; and find out she has another book but you get a little worried because you aren’t sure if it will live up to the hype the previous book had?  Well you don’t have to worry about that when it comes to Begging For Hale because this one is just as hot if not hotter then Coming To Hale and I loved each and every bit of it.  There is angst, there is drama, there is sex, oh holy hell there is some hot sex.
I am keeping this on the shorter side because I want you to check out not just Begging For Hale, but the first book Coming To Hale(which I would say please read ahead of time because it was so damn good).  This is an author that I have a feeling is going to be one we need to keep an eye on, because if this is just the beginning of the talent she has, then Marie James will be here to stay.  Go check this series out, recommend it to your friends if you enjoyed it as much as I did and make sure you have a spare set of panties to change into, trust me you will need them.
