Review: Even Vampires Get the Blues (Deadly Angels #6) by Sandra Hill

The fact that vampire angel Harek Sigurdsson was a Norseman in his mortal life doesn’t make thawing out after exile in Siberia any easier. But things heat up when his search for evil Lucipires connects him with Camille Dumaine, a human who thrums with sensual energy that can mean only one thing: she’s the mate Harek’s been seeking for centuries . . .

The SEALs call her “Camo” for her ability to blend into a crowd—yet Harek’s intense blue gaze singles Camille out like a white-hot spotlight. The security wiz was hired to help bring down a ruthless band of international kidnappers, but Camille senses an unspoken agenda—besides Harek’s bold declaration that she’s his “destiny.” Just Camille’s luck that the sexiest man she’s ever met may also be . . . a vampire!

Okay, first of all…Vampires…Angels…Vampires + Angels…Vangels. You with me so far? Vampire angels. This is a paranormal dream! Oh and on top of that, before they were vangels, they were Norsemen. Hot, virile, Viking men. A man’s man. Let me just take a moment to pause and reflect on the beauty of all that…Okay and the moment is up. So, how did they become vangels? Well, let’s just say the men focused on in this series were very naughty in their human lives. Like, committing one of the seven deadly sins kind of naughty. But, thankfully, the Big Man upstairs gave them one shot to repent and devote their energy to the greater good–helping to rid the earth of evil Lucipires and preserve humanity.
Enter Harek Sigurdsson. He had an issue with greed, a hunger for obtaining mass amounts of wealth. Always needing, wanting more. Even now, living in the modern world and serving as a vangel, he still struggles with his addiction. Oh, if Michael, the Archangel and basically his boss, knew what Harek was hiding…or does he? Michael sends Harek on a mission to help a team of Navy SEALs. However, unbeknownst to Harek or Michael, that mission puts Harek on the direct path to meeting his predestined mate.
Camille Dumaine, known as “Camo” to the SEALS, is devoted to her career in the military and serves her country as a WEAL, a sister unit to the SEALs. She is able to slip in undetected, and get the task done. Hence her nickname. Camille is a fierce warrior. She believes in what she does and works her butt off. She comes from a well-to-do family of scholars from New Orleans. Her parents are professors at Tulane and her brother was literally a rocket scientist, now a professor as well. Camille couldn’t have chosen a more opposite path. But, hey, it leads her to Harek.
Chocolate and Roses, that’s the fragrance scented when you put Harek and Camille in a room together. The scent, which only they can smell at first, is the first clue Harek gets to Camille being his mate. As much as he rejects the notion and tries to not give in, he can’t deny the hold Camille has over him. But, there’s this thing about him being a vangel, her being a human, and Michael really won’t be happy to know that another one of his warriors has bitten the love dust. Already this couple has a lot of odds to overcome. Add to it, Camille has been burned badly by love before, so trust is a major issue with her, Harek’s inability to follow the rules, thus keeping him from being on Michael’s good side, AND they need to work together to save a group of girls from terrorists working with Lucipires. All that there should give you an idea of how awesome this book is.
Sandra Hill does a fantastic job blending paranormal romance, suspense, action, and humor. Harek and Camille are extremely likeable characters. The glimpses we get of Michael are witty and funny. I get the sense that sometimes he feels like he’s herding cats, which let’s face it, he’s in charge of a group of vangels, so yeah it’s like that. But underneath the romance and fun is an underlying seriousness. The girls they need to rescue and the work the vangels do is no joke. There are sick minded people in the world and the perfect targets for Lucipires to team up with.
Even Vampires Get the Blues is the sixth book in the Deadly Angels series and one to add to your TBR list.

Review: Easy Charm (The Boudreaux Series #2) by Kristen Proby

I swear reading a Kristen Proby book is like coming home and curling up in your favorite chair by a crackling fire. It just feels good. Her stories are full of love, heat, laughs, and family.
At twenty-seven years old, Gabrielle Boudreaux is the baby of the family. She’s a single mom to a charismatic seven year old boy and single-handedly runs a successful inn. Her son, family, and work are all she needs to be content in life. What more could Gabby want?
Rhys O’Shaughnessy has made a career out of his number one love–baseball. He’s been the Chicago Cubs’ pitcher for more than a decade. However, a torn rotator cuff benches him for a season, giving him the needed time to heal his body. At his cousin’s suggestion, he turns to Gabby’s inn in New Orleans to recuperate. But what he finds there is so much more than a place to stay and get well.
Gabby truly amazed me. She had to grow up quickly in life. She was pregnant at nineteen and going at it without the father. Yes, she had the love of her family and their support in her decisions to give her a boost, but she has so much strength within herself. Hard work does not scare her off, she thrives on it. She is fierce when she needs to be, but still has this innocence and fun-loving way about her. Seriously, people, I think I have a girl crush.
Rhys is absolutely charming! For being a major league pitcher, he is this down to earth, easy-going, honest, passionate man. I swooned hard for this guy. He just fits. It’s like he’s been there all along. The way he cares not only for Gabby but her son too speaks volumes about him. He’s the real deal.
Rhys and Gabby together is just a straight up perfect union. They are made for each other. She’s not intimidated by his social status OR his prowess in the bedroom. And holy mother of all does it get hot in the bedroom! She gives as good as she gets. Rhys in return is her balance. Her other half. Though she may have been good all these years without a man in her life, she comes to realize having Rhys by her side is a very good thing. Now, if only those two would communicate their feelings and desires to each other all would be well. But come on, how often do we really voice what we feel without some pushing and prodding? They both fear the answer the other will give and thus keep their mouths shut, driving themselves and each other crazy.
Easy Charm is so easy to fall in love with. Kick up your feet, sink into your chair, sit back and find love in the bayou. Enjoy!

Eli Boudreaux’s family has built ships and boats in Louisiana for generations. He comes from a hard working, wealthy family and his empire is growing by leaps and bounds. At thirty, he is the youngest CEO to ever head Bayou Enterprises, co-chairing with his eldest brother. His head for business and his no-nonsense work ethic is also quickly making him the best the company has seen in generations. His staff admires him, women adore him and Eli’s family is solid. But he’s recently discovered that someone on the inside of his business is stealing from him and he’s determined to find out who.

Kate O’Shaughnessy is hired by companies all over the world to slip inside and investigate every member of the organization from the CEO down to the custodial staff to find the person or persons responsible for embezzling. She’s excellent at blending, becoming part of the team, and finding the weakest link. She’s smart, quick-witted, and she’s now been hired by Bayou Enterprises, specifically Eli Boudreaux. The attraction is immediate and the chemistry is off the charts, but Kate has heard all about Eli’s playboy past and she has a job to do. Sleeping with the boss isn’t a part of that job, even if just the sound of her name rolling off that Cajun tongue and the way he fills out a designer suit does make her sweat.

Eli’s southern charms surprise Kate. The man whose reputation labels him as a ruthless, callous womanizer is not the man she’s coming to know intimately. He’s generous, protective and makes her smile. Cracking through Kate’s cool, reserved demeanor and discovering her love of sexy, expensive lingerie is a challenge Eli can’t resist, but her sweet nature, love of family and sense of humor pull at him in ways no one else ever has.

But when the person responsible for trying to single-handedly dismantle Eli’s empire comes to light, and it’s time for Kate to move on, to what lengths will Eli go to keep the woman he’s fallen in love with by his side?

“Good, but you should have called me,” Eli says, then sighs when Rhys kisses my hand. “Are you going to continue to touch my sister for all of us to see?”
“Yes,” Rhys replies simply, making Kate grin.
“I’m not sure how I feel about this,” Eli says.
“You don’t have to feel any way about it,” I reply in frustration. “I’m a grown-ass woman.”
“It’s my job to protect you,” Eli says, as if I’m being difficult.
“But it’s not your job to be an ass,” Kate says, but softens the blow by kissing his cheek. “It’s Rhys. You know him. And they’re cute together.”
“Hurt her, and—”
“Seriously,” I interrupt, not wanting to hear the hurt her and I’ll kill you speech. “We’re fine.”
“I get it,” Rhys says to Eli. “I feel the same about Kate; you know that. We’ve had that conversation. I almost decked you when you showed up in Denver.”
Eli sits back in his chair, and his eyes calm a bit, but he looks no less foreboding.
“Don’t make me regret trusting you,” Eli says calmly, just as our meals are delivered.
“Back at you,” Rhys replies with a cold smile. Kate catches my eye, and we both sigh, and shrug as if to say, what can you do? They love us. They’re worried about us.
Damn it, sometimes they’re idiots.
But lunch is delicious.
“Beau said this morning that you need a new dishwasher,” Eli says.
“I do. I’ll find time to pick one out in the next few days.”
“Just come to the office with me after lunch and sign off on one, and I’ll have it delivered. It’s your inn, but damn it, we can help with that shit. You’re busy enough.”
“Too busy,” Kate agrees.
“I think I’m going to hire some help,” I reply. “Rhys might have talked me into it.”
Eli’s eyebrow shoots up in surprise. “We’ve been trying to talk you into it for over a year.”
“I didn’t need it a year ago.” I shrug and twirl a long string of cheese around my fork. “But I’m much busier now, and Sam is getting more involved in things, so it’s time to have some help.”
“I’ll take care of it,” Eli says, as if there is no room for argument, and I simply laugh at him.
“No, you won’t.”
“Gabby, I have a whole HR staff that can easily find someone qualified to help you.”
“I’m perfectly capable of finding someone to help me,” I reply. “You run your business, and I’ll run mine, big brother.”
He sits back in his hair and tilts his handsome head, watching me. “Okay. You handle it.”
“I will.” I nod once and sip my Coke. “I wonder if I should specify in the ad that felons aren’t welcome to apply.”
“Gabby, let me handle this!” Eli exclaims, and I can’t help but dissolve in a fit of giggles.
“I’m teasing. It sure is fun to get you all riled up.”
“Most wouldn’t dare,” Kate says good-naturedly. “I wonder what people would say if they knew that he’s nothing but a big softie.”
“I will take you over my knee, Kate,” he murmurs to her, and Rhys tenses up beside me, but Kate just laughs and leans her head on Eli’s shoulder.
“Right. Except you have this thing against spanking me, so I don’t think that’ll happen.”
Eli’s lips twitch as he buries them in Kate’s hair and kisses her head.
“I don’t mind being spanked,” I add and eat a chip loaded with cheese and beans, just as Eli’s eyes go cold again, pinned on Rhys, who simply laughs beside me.
“I don’t need to know this,” Eli growls.
“It’s not like he leaves marks. Well, they don’t stay for long.”
Kate is laughing like a loon into her hand, Rhys is smiling widely, and Eli looks like he’s about to spit nails.

Or spank me himself.

Review: Elements of Chemistry: ATTRACTION (Hypothesis Series Book 1) by Penny Reid

One week.
Private beach.
Invisible girl.
Jerk-faced bully.
What’s the worst that could happen?

Kaitlyn Parker has no problem being the invisible girl, which is why she finds herself hiding in various cabinets and closets all over her college campus. Despite her best efforts, she can’t escape the notice of Martin Sandeke—bad boy, jerkface bully, and the universe’s hottest, wealthiest, and most unobtainable bachelor—who also happens to be Kaitlyn’s chemistry lab partner.

Kaitlyn might be the only girl who isn’t interested in exploiting his stunning rower’s build, chiseled features, and family’s billionaire fortune. Kaitlyn wants Martin for his brain, specifically to tabulate findings of trace elements in surface water.

When Kaitlyn saves Martin from a nefarious plot, Martin uses the opportunity to push Kaitlyn out of her comfort zone: spring break, one week, house parties, bathing suits, and suntan lotion. Can she overcome her aversion to being noticed? Will he be able grow beyond his self-centered nature? Or, despite their obvious chemistry, will Martin be the one to drive Kaitlyn into the science cabinet of obscurity for good?
Awesome, splendid, amazing, wonderful, impressive…if you have no clue why I’m writing a bunch of synonyms for awesome, then you clearly haven’t read the book yet. And you need to. You NEED to read this book. No lie, I was handed this book in bar. A crowded bar. Surrounded by friends and laughter. What do I do? I open to the first page to quickly skim the contents and end up completely zoning everyone and everything around me out. In. A. Bar! I was immediately swept up in the story. I had to see it to the end, no matter my location.

Attraction is a sweet, sexy and quirky story about the jock who falls for the geek. How awesome is that?! Kaitlyn, the heroine, is super smart and equally nervous around guys. Hot guys. One hot guy in particular, Martin. She’s comfortable hiding behind her baggy clothes, sneakers, and surrounded by lab beakers. What does she need a man in her life for? Especially, Martin, who makes her pulse race and girly parts awaken. Pfft…she doesn’t need him. They are strictly lab partners, nothing more. She’s noticed the way he treats women anyway. That boy is nothing but a heartbreaker. Player. Nope, she definitely does not want anything to do with him outside of the lab. Unfortunately or maybe not, Martin HAS taken notice of her. And he very much likes what he sees.

Martin is the ultimate, all-American, good-looking, jock. He comes from a wealthy family, which makes him easy prey for many girls looking to be the one to tame him. Except one girl. Kaitlyn. She keeps her distance from him, much to his disappointment. But, when she steps out of her comfort zone to warn him of an impending danger, he jumps at the opportunity to not let her shirk back into her old self. Martin sees the beauty beneath. Even if she doesn’t…or doesn’t believe it.

I LOVED this story! LOVED IT! There wasn’t one dull moment. It was brilliant and well told. And of course left me screaming for more when I reached the end because this was only part 1 of a 3 part book. *drops to knees and throws head back to wail* noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I loved seeing Kaitlyn blossom around Martin, and Martin isn’t the complete jerk-face Kaitlyn thinks he is (she just doesn’t fully realize that yet). Their chemistry is sensual and sizzling. They challenge each other and go so damn well together. I cannot wait for the next installment.

Seriously, I highly recommend this one. Add it to your bookshelves. Now. Attraction releases on April 9th, but don’t worry, you can pre-order.

*Arc handed to me in a bar, A BAR, by a friend who knows me well and shares my passion for reading.

Blog Tour: Dante’s Redemption By: Jamie Whitley

unnamed (4)

DRDante Santoro knew he was destined for great things. Growing up with two dead beat parents, Dante was forced to become an adult before his time. Deciding to change the world, Dante distanced himself from the only life he knew, the life of drugs and crime.

After going through school and training, Dante became a detective in the local police force. Keeping focused on getting drugs off the streets, he limited friends and outside connections.
Finding himself the perfect candidate to go undercover, he never anticipated the one person he thought was safe could jeopardize it all.

Will Dante be able to succeed at making the streets a safer place or will his destiny alter the course of the life he lives forever?

Dante’s childhood to simply put it was hell.  But he is who he is today because of it and he is stronger and more determined.  He is your typical man whore, only having booty calls, no relationships but all that begins to slowly change with Ava.  Ava she is strongly independent and I loved that about her. I can’t describe her in the way I am trying to correctly so I am just not going to try beyond saying I just straight up loved her character.   I loved these two together, and again that is rare for me because I usually love one character and hate the other but I honestly loved both of them.  I’m not going to give spoilers away but just know that this is one sexy read that will have you devouring each word until the very end.

Dante’s Redemptionis the first book in the Salvationseries, and if book one was this damn good then I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series is going to be.  It had me so completely hooked from the very start, and personally I have a hard time sometimes finding books that are able to do that.

It’s so easy to think you’re invincible when you’re a kid. No one tells you any different, so you’re led to believe that you’re untouchable. When you play with your GI Joes, Snake Eyes always takes down the bad guys; and good always prevails over evil. Your parents just smile and watch you play and protect your innocence. Then you grow up and you learn that good doesn’t always win. In the end we all die, there is no escaping the fact that we won’t live forever. When your time is up, it’s up. There’s no cheating death. I always knew growing up I was destined to make something great of myself. I was going to have purpose in this ugly world and bring some beauty into it. I just didn’t know how I was going to do it. It’s hard to find yourself when your mother’s a drug addict and your dad walked out on you at the age of four. Not really the best role models for a kid. Most people would use that as their excuse to slack off and not have to follow the rules. Feel entitled to do whatever the fuck they wanted because life handed them a shitty hand. Not me, I took it as my chance to prove to everyone out there that there are no excuses; you create your own future. I studied hard through school and my grades excelled. I joined every sports team I could to keep myself busy so I wouldn’t have to go home to my mom. I eventually had to get a part-time job at an auto shop to help pay for my food. My mother never seemed to care if I had food on the table. The only thing she cared about was how she was going to get her next fix I had no choice but to provide for myself or I would go hungry. Still, I never resented her. Her addiction made me stronger and taught me that hard work pays off. Fast forward and here I am, thirty years old and a DEA Agent with a nice record of busts under my belt. Ironic isn’t it? I grew up with a drug addict and now I take down drug dealers. Dante Santoro, the biggest walking contradiction to the drug world. Nice to meet you.

Safe With Me
“Caleb is a no-nonsense man. His main purpose in life is to keep his girls safe, but when they’re all going stir crazy and ask him to let them get out for some fun, he can’t tell them no. Even when it puts him in a bad space emotionally due to his PTSD. Even when it makes him afraid for their safety. His dedication to their well-being, both physically and emotionally, is just one of the reasons that I adore this former Navy SEAL.” ~Kristen Proby
Excerpt from Safe With Me
“Look, Mom! It’s Jules and Nate’s building!” Josie is pointing eagerly out the window of the duck boat, the yellow duck bill whistle in her mouth that all the passengers get when they get on the amphibious truck.
The quacking gets incredibly annoying, and the whistles will be “lost” by morning.
The truck drives through downtown Seattle, by the famous Pike Place Market, through old Belltown and then right into the water of Lake Washington for a tour about the lake, giving us a fantastic view of the Seattle skyline.
The girls are loving it.
“Yes, it is,” I agree and smile at Josie. “But how do you know?”
“Because it’s by the really good doughnut place.” She grins. “I like the glazed ones.”
“Ah, that’s right.” I nod and have a sudden craving for glazed doughnuts myself. “We went there the last time we stopped by to see Jules and Nate.”
Josie giggles as I tug on one of her long ponytails, and I glance over at Caleb, who hasn’t paid attention to one word the tour guide has said, but instead watches every person on the truck intently, his eyes narrowed.
He and I are both seated on the aisle, giving the girls the window seats so they can see everything the tour guide is describing.
“Relax,” I murmur to him.
He doesn’t even look my way.
I put my duck call between my pursed lips and blow it in his face.
He whips his head around and glares at me.
“Relax,” I tell him again, with a grin. “This is fun.”
His body is tense, every muscle flexed and ready to jump into action. His phone rings, and he reaches for it and has it pressed to his ear before the second ring.
And suddenly, like magic, it’s as though his body deflates like a balloon. “Thank God.”
He listens and then chuckles. “Yeah, well, that’s one less thing we need to worry about, but we’re not out of the woods. Okay, later.”
He hangs up and exhales, pushes his hand through his hair and finally glances down at me. “I’ll tell you when we get back to my place.”
“Good news?” I ask.
“Yeah.” He nods and scans the group again.
“They’re the same people that were there twenty seconds ago. They haven’t changed, Caleb.”
“I don’t like crowds,” he murmurs as he shakes his head, his eyes trained on the exits, body still alert.
I reach over and lace my fingers through his, anchoring him to me. I can’t imagine what’s going through his head right now. The girls are oblivious, loving the sights and sounds of the city, dancing along with the music and blowing into their duck calls.
“Thank you for this,” I murmur to him, and he nods once then breathes a sigh of relief when the vehicle stops back where we started and the passengers begin to disembark.
“Now what?” Maddie asks with a wide grin.
“Let’s get ice cream!” Josie exclaims as we stand to be the last ones to leave.
“Let’s go to the movies!” Maddie joins in.
Caleb swears under his breath and tugs one of each of the girls’ hands into his own as we walk past the Experience Music Project toward the parking garage.
We lucked out on the weather today. For February, it’s relatively warm, and rain-free.
Thank God.
“Caleb! Look! Cotton candy!” Josie points at a red and white cart laden with clouds of cotton candy in plastic bags, popcorn and slushies.
“Okay, we can do cotton candy.” Caleb grins down at the girls and leads us to the cart.
“I want pink!” Maddie and Josie exclaim at the same time.
“Two pink cotton candies.” Caleb chuckles with the older woman working inside the cart.
She smiles widely and hands them over, then collects the money for them from Caleb. “Your family is beautiful.” She winks. “And your girls clearly have you wrapped around their little fingers.”
I tense for a moment, my eyes glued to Caleb’s face. He continues to stare down at his wallet, a smile tugging on his lips, but then he frowns almost regretfully. Finally, he glances back up at the kind woman, offering her a fake smile.
“Thank you,” he replies simply, accepts his change and hands the girls their sweets.
“What do you say?” I remind my girls.
“Thank you!” Their voices are a chorus of excitement as they dive into the sweet confection and nibble their treat.
“Thank you,” I mutter to Caleb, who meets my gaze with sad blue eyes.
“You’re welcome.”

With enemies coming at him from all directions, Storm MC needing his help to fight off a rival, and his father still causing him grief, Blade needs the love of a good woman now more than ever. Can Layla push Blade to the edge and get him to admit to both of them what he wants? Or will the darkness pull him under once and for all?

What can I say besides I freaking LOVE THIS SERIES!  Blade you are one dangerous, sexy, alpha male with demons that are a part of you that at times they define you.  When we first met Blade, we knew that he wasn’t going to be your typical bad boy, no, you could tell from the first time you meet him that he was going to be a game changer and that my fellow readers is a hell of an understatement.  There is so much more to Blade, including the fact that he still holds the death of his fiancé in his heart and soul and blames himself.  He doesn’t ever want to get close to someone like that again, but when he gets a taste of Layla, his foundation isn’t just cracked, it is broken and he doesn’t know how to feel about that.
Layla, she is a ball crushing (not even busting but crushing) bitch.  She is a smart ass, feisty, protective and exactly what Blade needs.  She is not shy or weak, nope she is strong and has her own mind.  She wants to know Blade’s demons and doesn’t run scared when she learns just who Blade is.  Like I said, the perfect fit in every way for Blade.
Slay, is different than the other Storm series books only in the fact that Blade is not a part of Storm, but at the same time is linked to them because of his father, and his half brother and sister.  Don’t let the fact that he isn’t knee deep in the Storm MC make you not want to read it, because if you miss this book you will miss out on a damn good read.  One that is emotional, sexy as hell, is gritty and at times makes you want to scream both in frustration and to thank the lord.  Each book in this series, for me at least, has gotten better and better.  I am totally hooked and there are still more books to come (YES!). Make sure if for some reason that you haven’t read this series yet to read them in order, because the books are connected and ongoing.

I remained silent and waited to see how far he’d take this. When his hand moved up the inside of my thigh and under my skirt, I parted my legs and rested my head against the seat, closing my eyes. He kept going until he reached my panties. A moment later, I moaned as he pushed his finger inside me and went deep, massaging me at the same time as his thumb played with my clit. My hands gripped the car seat, and I held on tight. The pleasure from Donovan’s fingers was intense and I knew it wouldn’t be long until he’d make me come.

“God, your fingers . . . ” My voice trailed off and he pushed harder inside me.

“Fuck, baby, you got any idea how fucking turned on I am right now? You’re so fucking ready for my cock,” he groaned and I could hear his hunger for me.

I reached across and placed my hand on his dick. He wasn’t joking when he said he was turned on. My eyes flew open, and I pushed his hand away from me and sat up straight. I looked out the window and realised we weren’t far from his place. “Take me to your house,” I said.

He frowned. “Why’d you stop me? I nearly had you there.”

“Because I want you to fuck it out of me,” I answered him and prodded his arm. “Turn here for your house. It’s closer than mine.”

“You need to get back for work tonight.”

“Baby, what I need is your cock, so turn the damn car and get me to your place. We can sort work out after you’ve fucked me.”

“Fuck,” he growled as he turned the car, “I hope you’re ready for this.”

Donovan pretty much yanked me from his car and into his house. I’d fallen in love with his home the first time I’d visited. It was very masculine, in grey and black tones. Very Donovan. Today I hardly had a chance to notice it as he dragged me through it and into his bedroom. Fuck, I loved it when he was like this: demanding and bossy as hell.

And intense.

Donovan’s intensity attracted me to him even before he’d rescued me that night. I’d watched him for a long time, and while I found him a little scary, I’d wanted to know how that intensity would translate in the bedroom. And now I knew – it was hot, and it made me crave his touch like I’d never craved a man’s touch before.

He got me into his bedroom, pushed me up against the wall, and shoved his hand straight up my skirt, and into my panties.

His eyes blazed with desire as he growled, “I know you want my dick, but I need to feel you first.”

I grabbed his face with both hands. “Make it quick,” I demanded before pulling his lips to mine.

His fingers pushed inside, and he grunted something unintelligible into my mouth as he kissed and fingered me. I let his face go so I could reach down and hike my skirt up around my waist. Then I wrapped one of my legs around him, and tilted my pussy forward so his fingers could go deeper.

“Oh, fuck,” I moaned as his fingers brought me so much pleasure. It was too much. I needed his cock now, so I pushed him away.

He knew what I wanted and began tearing off my clothes. Once he had me naked, he stripped himself while I stood and enjoyed the show. Then he picked me up and deposited me on the bed before moving on top of me.

“One day soon, I’m gonna get fucking creative with you, but for the moment, I just need to get inside you and fuck you,” he said as his cock entered me.

I wrapped my arms and legs around him and moved with him. “I don’t need creative, Donovan. I just need you.”

He pulled out and thrust in again. Over and over, he repeated this and kept up a slow, torturous pace.

His eyes were focused on mine.

As if this was his way of communicating with me.

And I felt that; I felt what he wasn’t saying.

It seemed like he fucked me for an eternity. He brought me close, then backed off, then repeated this over and over. By the time I came, I was in a delirious state of bliss. My body was not my own anymore, it was Donovan’s, and I simply moved with him while he skilfully controlled me.

My eyes were shut, and my mind and body lit up with the pleasure from my orgasm. I screamed out Donovan’s name at almost the same time that his body tensed and he roared with his release.

I clung to him tightly as the last drops of pleasure rushed through me, until I eventually let go, and murmured, “You sure know what you’re doing, don’t you?”

He stared at me for a couple of beats before saying, “It’s you, baby.”

“What’s me?” I was still half delirious from the orgasm, but I sensed something in his words and struggled to fight through the haze to grasp what he was saying.

“You bring it out of me. I’ve fucked a lot of women, but I’ve never felt it like this before.” He paused for a second before adding, quite firmly, “Never.”

Review: Unbroken (Disclosure Series Book #2) by R.E. Hunter

This is romance at its best. Unbroken is sexy, seductive, love-beats-all, we’re-in-it-together, can’t-be-stopped, heartwarming romance. R.E. Hunter has outdone herself with this sequel. By the time I read the words “The End”, my heart was full and my emotions spent. Dare I say, getting to the end of Luke and Embry’s journey was much like the euphoric release one experiences during the big “O”. The slow burn and seduction of a well told story. The spike in adrenaline during the climactic rise. Then finally, the pay off, the satiated, toe tingling rush coursing through you when reaching that ultimate high. In my head, I was screaming ‘yes, yes, yes!’ These two amazing, strong people held together and as a team confronted and defeated the obstacles in their lives. This is love.
“I don’t work without you, Embry. I never have, and I never will.”
When we last saw Luke and Embry, I had no clue how they were going to recover or which direction their story was going to go. My heart was hurting for them, my mind going crazy with all the possible scenarios. I was ecstatic that we didn’t have to wait long to see them find their way back to each other. That’s not to say that Ms. Hunter didn’t twist me in knots. On the contrary, my stomach and nerves pitched in quite a few places. Embry had to learn to let go of the hurt and decide to trust Luke again. Luke was noticeably sorry for all the pain he caused her and tried his damndest to make it up to her. Then there were the outside forces working against them. Old demons that needed to be dealt with. Her past. His. At one point, my heart was in my throat. Unbrokenkept me on edge till the very end.
He’d broken her down, shattered her, then put her back together again.
It is rare when a sequel can surpass the first book, equal footing yes, but to exceed book one doesn’t happen often. R.E. Hunter has accomplished that feat. If you haven’t yet picked up this series, what are you waiting for? Get to it!
“My home’s right here, Embry…As long as you’re there, I’m home.”
She was running toward her future. He was running from his past. When their worlds collided, nothing could prepare them for what was to come.
Reeling from Luke’s betrayal, Embry Jacobs is lost and looking for answers. His lies have ripped them apart, forcing her to question everything she thought she knew about the man she loves. But to give Luke another chance, she’ll have to forgive his lies and risk her already fragile heart.
Luke Brody’s past has finally caught up to him — in more ways than one. After losing the only woman he’s ever loved, he’ll do anything to get her back. But when he finally has the chance to make things right, unforeseen circumstances threaten to tear them apart once more.
When the truth comes out, will it set them free or break them both?
Book 1: Undone
Five years ago, Embry Jacobs ran…

She ran from a past that still hasn’t let her go, but her dream of becoming a lawyer is stronger than her fear of confronting that past. Embry’s sole focus is to get through law school—with the help of her best friend, Morgan—and make something of the broken girl she became. Not thinking about falling in love, being in a relationship or even entertaining the idea of romance, Embry is moving forward one day at a time.

Luke Brody is charming and sexy, and has a past of his own. He wants nothing more than to put his demons to rest and move on with his life. But, when Embry enters the picture, is he destined to repeat those same mistakes?

Blindsided by their instant attraction, neither Luke nor Embry are prepared for the feelings they’re developing. But will it all be for nothing?

Will they let their pasts destroy them, or will they risk everything to fight for their relationship when it all comes undone?

Unbroken Excerpt
The arms around her tightened and their owner let out a low, sleepy groan. At the sound, Embry stiffened and her eyes popped open. Suddenly, the sweet warmth of his body was a searing fire burning her bare skin and sending her into a panic. Slowly dragging herself from his embrace, she sat up in the bed. Her gaze traveled the room, taking in her surroundings before looking down at herself and realizing her clothes were missing, save barely there bra and panties. Taking a deep breath, she bolstered her resolve and glanced over her shoulder. The man asleep next to her was on his back, arm thrown over his head, his hard-lined chest and abs on display.
Embry’s stomach dropped violently and tears began to fall freely from her eyes. Oh no. No, no, no.

Release Blitz, Review and Giveaway: Grit by Margaret McHeyzer

Jaeger Dalton wants the land that was promised to him. Phoenix Ward isn’t about to let anyone take Freedom Run away from her. He’ll protect what’s his. She’ll protect what’s hers. Jaeger is an arrogant ass, but he wants nothing more than Phoenix. Phoenix is stubborn and headstrong, and she wants Jaeger out of her life. Her father lost the family farm to gambling debts, but Jaeger isn’t the only one who has a claim to the property. Sometimes it’s best to let things go. But sometimes it’s better to fight until the very end.

Jaeger oh my man Jaeger, he was hilariously clueless when it came to what women wanted but that’s what makes you love him.  He’s bossy, protective, irritating, hard headed and perfect for Nix.  I honestly was worried a couple of times that Nix might castrate him and when Sarge was giving Jaeger relationship advice that he had no hope of ever getting it right because if Sarge he’s well, he’s just Sarge.  Oh just read the book and you will understand why I said that.
Nix was not going to stand back and allow anyone including Jaeger to walk all over her. I really appreciated the fact that while she would break down and cry, she was still a strong willed woman.  She had been dealt a shitty hand thanks to her father, but she didn’t let it bring her down.  And when she needed to step up to not just save herself but someone who she cared about she did what she had to do.

You never know when you pick up a book if it is going to be one you love, like, or hate until you start to read it.  For me, books about MC’s or bikers are hit or miss, I either really love them or I flat out can’t stand them.  With Grit I loved it.  It was hilarious and sexy and overall a damn good read.  I read this in one setting and didn’t want to put it down.  I really hope that we get a book about Sarge, because I really want to get inside of his head and pants hehe.

Sarge walks into the kitchen and looks between the coffee all over the fridge door, the smashed porcelain on the ground and me, chuckling.

“That went well,” he says and lets his own laughter rip from his lips. “Heard her shrieking like a banshee out in the yard.”

“She wants to go home.” I rub my hands over my eyes and try to relax, but knowing she’s pissed isn’t great for me.”

“Women are different,” Sarge says with a shrug.

“Tell me about it.”

“Sometimes it’s best to shut the fuck up and not fight ‘em.” Sarge sits in the chair that Nix was sitting in.

“You pussy-whipped?” I ask as I feel my eyebrows draw together in question.

“Hmmm.” He reverts back to normal Sarge. “Women wanna be told what to do, but you need to make it look like it’s their idea.”

“That’s fucked. She should just do what I say and be happy with it.”

Sarge shakes his head. “She’s right, you’re a dick.”

I don’t do ‘normal’. I’ve found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader. I take the normal and switch it around. For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it’s the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I’ve done my job as an author I want to be. I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different. My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won’t label myself because I don’t like sticking to one genre. My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it’s only for a split second. I’m a go with the flow sort of person and don’t really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don’t usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I’ll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don’t like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don’t believe that’s necessary, I mean life’s hard enough as it is! I hope you enjoy my books, I’ve had a hoot writing them. There’s more to come….. Til next time. M xx
